Who posted the picture of some of the birds at the peace cup (at least I think it was)??

If I was on a promise with some of them they could have ate my pet dog.

Apologies if this has already been posted. Anybody seen this. It's a long and, in many ways, disturbing document.

It's concerning, but then the end paragraph makes it all seem better

I have to say that as a piece of work it's one of the most thoroughly well-researched and well-written pieces into our club that I've ever read. I do hope that this fella isn't 'our' fella though.

I think it unlikely - he also wrote this, and it sounds nothing like our very owbn esteemed Tango...

I’ve decided that we 100% should sell Taylor to West Ham

At the end of the day:

1) For whatever reason he’s not part of OC’s 1st team plans.
2) We have 4 other players that can play LW they are Petrov, Gardner, Alonso and Ward.
3) Possibly the most important reason because of the first two; Coyle still wants to strengthen the squad but has no money for transfers or wages- So selling Taylor for £3-5 mil and getting £40k off the wage budget is like winning the lottery for OC.

Jesus isn’t real.

Er no, not guilty. On the contrary it's a very comprehensive and insightful piece and very well written. Might well be somebody taking the mick though, not unknown. .

86% going on wages is scary. From memory, most of the current starting XI are on 38-40k a week, including both Taylor and Petrov, and probably Klasnic too. There's definitely scope for some serious decisions to be made in January.

13 players * £40k * 52 weeks = £27M
Gartside + Duckworth = £1.1M
Everyone else (squad players, coaching staff, academy, other staff) = £18.3M
Total wages = £46.4M

I'd rather we sell Cahill and Taylor, then let Elmander go on a Bosman to save £6M in wages rather than do a Portsmouth. But having said that it seems to me from my uneducation armchair that the £18.3M is the problem, and maybe once the players OC isn't going to use gradually get released/sold/bought off we'll be in a better place.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

If we rid ourselves of:

Joey O
Andy O
RigaRigaRigaRiga
Cohen
JLo

Make a profit on:
Al Habsi

And graciously dispense with the services of:
Ricardo

I can see us tackling a large part of our probelm without hurting our team.

I might also add that some players are replacable, some aren't. If the choice was, for example, selling Taylor for £3m in January to recoup money, or to sell Elmander for similar, choices will have to be made.

Indeed - it'd be very unlike you to post a dismissive one-liner, and I didn't really think that it would be you, but I had to ask.

All until the end of the season. Steinsson is out of contract too.

If it was really that desperate then the better choice would be selling Cahill for 12M plus.......

We've tried to replace Taylor and so far the bloke we brought in hasn't been as good, which is why Taylor is back in the side.

Elmander would be impossible to directly replace in January and a big loss but we'd have to muddle through.

Taking Elmo's contract situation aside if we're selling anyone in January for reasons not to do with them being out of contract in January it'll be Cahill IMO!

Rather sell Taylor than Cahill.

And I'm afraid we're just going to have to disagree here. I don't hink we'd have scored the 4th against Spurs, the 2nd against United, the only goal at Villa without him.

I'm not entirely convinced we don't already have the ideal replacement.

Elmanders playing well, but in Klasnic, we have someone who will score more goals than Elmander. He may not offer the all round play Elmander does, but Elmander has still missed some pretty easy chances this season, which if served up in front of Klasnic would have been scored.

Ideal world Elmander signs on for another year at least. If he's not signed by the 31st Dec. Flog him, preferrably to Stoke should the rumours be believed, as he'll struggle there as he did with us under Megson.

My point being Taylor is back in the side as he's playing better than his so called replacement.

In fact his last performance was top draw. So he'll stay in.

Of course if we lost him it'd give Petrov a chance and it'd not be the end of the world.

But Cahill we know is going, whether its sooner or later. I should imagine unless something intervenes like an injury or loss of form he won't be here come the start of next season anyways. And we can muddle by with Ricketts and Knight and perhaps a younger replacement, especially considering centre halves aren't as expensive as wingers and strikers.

Thats why if anyone goes in January (apart from possibly Elmander for contract reasons) then IMO it'll be Cahill.
