Both Lawro and this weeks guest predictioner Andy Murray have us down for a win.
Though I don't really know what to do with that information.

Cheers. I bet half of monkey corner haven't heard of Blackpool FC, never mind see us play themMontreal Wanderer wrote:Good one, EL. You noted some of us were not alive for the last meeting in 1993. An enjoyable read that, Chief. Cheers.

if only the preview hadn't been written by such a Blackpool fan!! That's way more gushing than the Toon one last week!

Good preview that but I'll raise the ante from 0-0 to 4-1 Whites just because we can't score 5 two games on the trot. Can we?
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.
Poor man last, rich man first.

Re: Wanderers v Blackpool
Apologies if this has been mentioned before but after welcoming back a great midfield servant last week in Nolan, tomorrow sees the return of Steve Thompson (Holloway's right hand man) who was the driving force in the BWFC midfield when I started watching them in the late 80's. I remember him being a superb player for us back in the day.
I agree with a few people who have an uneasy feeling about this fixture. Its going too well for us at the minute, attacking wise the Spurs & Newcastle performances were the best I have seen from us since the Rioch era. I feel however the footballing gods have got a nasty surprise in store for us so i'll go for a 3-2 defeat and pray (to said footballing gods
) that i'm wrong. COYW

There are two times in a man's life when he should not speculate: when he can't afford it, and when he can.

I meant to mention this, too. Steve Thompson was a wonderfully cultured central midfielder, playing for us at a time when we'd no right to own one. So glad to see that he's doing well, and I'll tell you what, we could do a lot worse than having Thomo on board teaching Holden and Muamba what to do with it once they've won it, or even how to place a shot!

Re: Wanderers v Blackpool
Far too much optimism floating around here. Blackpool will fancy it and if it gets gritty it could go either way.
I feel we're treating them lightly, they've gone to the DW, Anfield and Newcastle and come away with good results. Wouldn't be entirely gutted with a draw.
Having typed all that we're the form team and should give the champo team a shellacking.
Hell, 0-0.

Don't forget Basham in this list of returning domestiques.

I'd rather support Bolton than be you.
Re: Wanderers v Blackpool
The big day has arrived. Hope it's a full house today. Coyle has been here getting close to 1 full season now and we still haven't won three games on the trot. In fact we haven't won three PL on the trot since Big Sam. Today is the day to accomplish that and get another monkey off our back. Come on you whites!!!!
Re: Wanderers v Blackpool
Last week was a game I haven't enjoyed as much in years, this week it's a game I haven't look forward to as much in years. It's going to be bloody cold, am I old enough to take a blanket for my knees? It's another argument for standing on the terraces, never used to get cold in the old days

Re: Wanderers v Blackpool
It's true, there's more optimism on here than normally before a whites game, but I think we can win today.
Fact is, Blackpool have had some great performances and surprised a few people. But they're not Real Madrid, they can be stopped. And with almost half a season of fixtures to scout and DVD-watch I think we'll go in there treat them with the respect they deserve and have a game plan to win.
We'll need to do exactly what we've been doing, harass and chase and pressure high up the pitch and Adam is worthy of more than half an eye kept on him from Muamba.
Both defences concede goals, both teams score..... nil nil??

The West Australian newspaper says we are on but Foxtel says that we aren't, strange!!!Bolton Cozi wrote:No Bolton game on Fox Sports (Australia) again, so angry as. If anyone has a link can you please post it - was so looking forward to this game now I can't watch it on TV

Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

Doubt if anybody is doing that Jakerbeef. Only natural to be optimistic in the light of recent form but it won't be any cake-walk.Jakerbeef wrote:Far too much optimism floating around here. Blackpool will fancy it and if it gets gritty it could go either way.

Re: Wanderers v Blackpool
I had several dreams (nightmares?) last night about losing this weekend. The first scoreline was a 7-1 dicking which ruined our GD. In the second dream we lost 6-3.5 (3 and a half, I sh*t you not!) and somehow we lost to Arsenal which made it that much worse.
The scorelines are wacky enough to make me feel better, but now I'm worried. Domed!
