It probably wasn't the last time but one of our last vists was a big part of relegating us to 4

Hartford scored in that one, too

Lost 2-1 and it was lively

Did a Friday one, too, which I think we won 3 nowt

The last time we played them that springs to mind was a night match at Burnden in about 84. Asa Hartford scored with an absolute peach. 8)
Not competitively but we played a friendly there a while back, Todd was manager. Think it was Frandsen and Johansens debuts for the club. Good day out was that.

Am sure I remember us playing them early nineties under Phil Neal? Could be my mind going though.

I suspect we may actually play for a draw

Replay would be televised, you see, and we're skint

Very respectful of you guys to note no disrespect by the potential of playing a weakened side, but we'd honesty expect it. Let's be fair, your reserves should be of the quality that would beat us. Or to put it another way, if your chairman had a crazy moment and offered us your entire reserve squad to play as YCFC in the Conference, would we snap your hands off?....yes! (As much as I do think we've finally got a decent team now).

PS I'm sticking around on this forum. The "other" Bolton forum's thread on this is basically an internal argument about if York is located on the coast or not (FFS!) Don't think I'll bother joining that one :D

Ok question time again :)

Still waiting to hear if it's the Saturday or Sunday, but word is Bolton are giving us the whole of the away stand, but are yet to confirm if the first batch of tickets will be 2,000 or 3,000. I assume they want us to sell out a tier and go from there.

We took 4,500 to Stoke, so would be annoyed if we can't manage that for the easier trip to Bolton.

Any ideas if they'll give us the top tier of the bottom tier first?

May be a natural confusion with New York?....

I think you'll get bottom tier first
and then top. However, if your fans are famous for persistent standing (like the DMB's) you may only get bottom tier.

And watch out for the Orange Warriors. Bunch of miserable buggers.

Considering the number of grounds in the Conference that are all seater, I'd hazard a guess that york stand more persistently than any other club we'll face this season....

They may enjoy the fact that we can offer seating!

Yeah, feels a bit strange sitting down :D We all stood through the Darlington game in the second round but the stewards there are the friendliest bunch we've come across.

Assume your stewards won't take kindly to our lot then!

We're in a 90 year old ground where it's still traditional to have most people packed in behind the goal, standing.

Some photos.

Those pics are fantastic. Been a while since we've had such colourful support. Probably Aris in the Waffa cup!

I think, Monty, that given the significance of York in our nation's history, to confuse it with New York is even worse than to ask if it's on the coast. Hardrada's army marched from the coast and were defeated at Stamford Bridge. Don't they teach them anything anymore?

Thanks. Hopefully we won't suffer as we did against Stoke, as they wouldn't allow us to take any flags in (at all) and a lot of daytrippers dilute things somewhat, although they still said we were the best away crowd they've had in years. We've learnt from the Stoke experience and will be looking to getting tickets specific sections to keep the core together and hopefully encourage the daytrippers to join in.

We had 1,500 at Darlington, and they are in a ridiculous 25,000 all seater, but we kept the noise up for 90 minutes and bossed it. 90 minutes in and we're still making all the noise before scoring the winner on this video:
