True. He was a hard worker even under the motivational black hole that was HWSNBN. This would only be a concern if he elects to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.

No same thing happens at any club.If a player is unsettled/leaving his commitment is immediately under scrutiny.Any perceived drop in form or commitment and they're an easy target. As has been pointed out elsewhere fans like to have at least one player to moan at.

I don't know.. I've tried to erase his spell with us from my memory. His corker against Palace is still there though..

He is playing well and doing well, I hope that he stays.

If he goes, we move on.

the mood music coming from the club still has a dominant note of quiet confidence...

Elmo had better get his pen out and sign an extension if he wants a shot at the Sampions Lig.

The Liverpool story makes no sense. For Liverpool, Elmander isn't going to be the difference between the Champions League and the Europa League. He also won't be the difference between survival and relegation. Ergo it makes little sense to spend £5 million - or any amount of money - on a player they can hope to get for free at the end of the season when the real rebuilding starts.

I don't see that Elmo has anything to offer Pool that they don't already have, unless they are going to sell all their strikers.

As I said earlier 5mil would be good money but I don't see anyone paying close to that in January, unless they are totally mad.

I'm still disappointed that he is playing hard to get after all the support Bolton have given him over the past 2 1/2 years and particularly since Coyle came in.
Depression is just a state of mind, supporting Bolton is also a state of mind hence supporting Bolton must be depressing QED

It's simple really. If he doesn't want to pull on the white shirt then he can feck off. Same goes for any player.

(Not that I have a clue of his intentions.)

This is all part of the contract negotiations. Stall and threaten to leave before being offered an improved deal.

I am not saying he will definitely stay but surely after the last few years he is enjoying his football now. A move to Liverpool's bench would not be a good move for Johan and his wife Amanda Elmander (Great name that).

Whilst I would love Elmander to sign a new contract, people seem to be forgetting that if he does go we have a ready made, and more than capable replacement.

Ivan Klasnic, up until 2 months ago was considered a much better player. He's already scored the goals (some belters too) in the Premiership, so I have no fear about him stepping in if needed.

Nobody's forgetting Klasnic Chris. He's a "fox in the box" player who doesn't have Elmander's strength or energy. Totally different player and not a like-for-like swap at all. He, like Petrov at the moment, is an impact sub, not a ninety minute grafter.

I didn't mean like for like in the sense that he's a similar sort of player.

Impact sub? Last season he was more than effective when starting games. How many did he get in his first season (with injuries)? He's had more of an impact than Elmander had.

Obviously no one has forgotten him, what I'm saying is that people seem to be worried about losing Elmander. Whilst I would love to keep him, if he goes it doesn't mean our season will be in free fall. Klasnic could step into his role and I don't think we would be any worse off.

Yeah but even if Klasnic could handle 90 minutes regularly - which I don't think he can - that would still leave us needing another striker as our ace in the hole.
