In fact, when you look at it, the defence of Taylor last season was his goals. Wonder what happened to that?
When he was sprinting through with the ball against Spurs, I had absolutely no doubt in my mind that he'd score. I don't feel that way whenever I see anybody else running through

They'd be the flashes. He has undoubted quality (I am Owen Coyle) and he has shown that, but his contribution over 90mins has been woeful. A liability in our half, stupid backheels, and he keeps picking wrong decisions. Even then he comes up with moments like you have mentioned. I think he will turn out to be a good signing, but think he has played poorly so far.

He isn't a 90 min player, for sure. But Owen doesn't play him for 90. He offers the unpredictable and the occasional outstanding - not all that occasional either if you take on board LK's offerings. Start with Taylor for an hour. Bring on Petrov when we need to change things. Or just have some fun. :D

This. Petrov has been extremely poor in a number of games I have seen this season, but even then he is a very talented footballer who can score or create a goal in a moment. He hasn't been fully fit for a lot of the season, so there is every chance we haven't seen the best of him, but even if this is as good as it gets it is well worth his wages on a free transfer.

To repeat, and for the hard of understanding

I really don't see owt controversial in that

If paying Petrov means we have to lose Elmander, then yes, I'll fcuking keep questioning it

Paying Petrov isn't going to be the difference between losing Elmander and keeping Elmander.

Paying Riga £20,000 a week for 3 years might be, though.

Paying Elmander £50k a week* is probably the reason we won't be able to keep Elmander.

Hasn't set the world alight? He's been gash. But then he hasn't played football in two years. I don't think you just come back from that and pick straight up again. We've seen in flashes the quality is still there, but it is going to take time. I'm still hopeful he'll turn out to be a cracking signing, maybe kick on for the second half of the season Jay-Jay-esque, but Taylor the much better option at the mo.
Dear me

Absolutely - especially Elmander, the new golden boy

another day - another rumour...

(yes - I know - when do "swap deals" ever actually materialise??)
Bolton Wanderers hope they have the edge in the race for Leeds United midfielder Bradley Johnson, 23.
The Sun report that pay-rebel Johnson is set to join Bolton next month in a swap for defender Andy O'Brien. But Stoke also fancy the midfielder.
(from the ever-reliable leedsunited-mad.co.uk)

plus... he's not called Davies! duh!

Babel will expect huge wages and as Bin Dippers said no to a £9m fee from Brum in summer I can't see this happening.

I would like it to though.
Pfffft.

It's not a curse, more often a sign that a team has overachieved for a bit before reverting to the mean (cheers Puskas).

Trouble is, pre-November we'd only won one in nine...

Don't be expecting him to post about Bolton though!
What precisely does he do, then, this non-Blackburn fan on a Blackburn forum?

Winds their fans up most of the time by referring to us as the "white brazilians"!

I've no idea really he posts about goings on at Blackburn and their transfer dealings etc and sometimes general football stuff. I've no idea why he's on their board I guess he covers the North West top level football and I believe its one of the earliest interweb football forum thingy's!
