Actually, as one that's seen us play York on many an occasion as equals, I'm very much looking forward to this. 'You and yer mates' need to learn a little respect and obtain a little sense of recent history.

With you on that Brucie. It wasn't that long ago us & York were equals. Not sure I ever forgave them for the 2-1 defeats they inflicted on us, 1 in 76 iirc 1-2 at Burnden and a 1-2 reverse at Bootham Crescent that pretty much sent us down to Div 4.

I'll be there and hoping for a good game and a win please.

Still waiting for our tickets to go on sale. Would imagine it'll be soon, but we've only got Boston in the tinpot FA Trophy coming up on Saturday and then Luton away (ohhhh lordy, those plastic hooligans again ) the following Saturday. Imagine ticket sales will ramp up when we're back at home in the league later this month.

Can imagine this is hardly a glamour clash for you lot So what do you reckon the crowd will be? Less than half the normal home attendance?

Then again, we heard that from the Stoke fans last year and they sorta turned up in the end, as much as their notorious "noise" was shite and Delap's freaky throw ins was the only thing that got them singing that one song they know. Typical Premiership prawn sandwich "I'm only looking forward to when we play Man U" Sky Sports armchair nonsense. Hope you lot aren't like that.

In fairness I doubt you lot would get to excited if York were drawn at home to me and my mates. We probably wouldn't even get any twatty flares. There are a lot of those you mention, but equally those who go every week I think find it hard to get quite as up for it for games of this kind. It's a bit chicken and egg. The atmosphere is crap so some don't go but the atmosphere is crap coz there's no-one there. I wouldn't build your hopes up though, it'll be quiet. I want a replay.

Oh I know. Already said it would be totally understandable if this wasn't attractive to a lot of Bolton fans. My reference to Premiership fans was more about the dullards who get on coaches (including one which goes from York - much to our disgust) to occasionally to wave their little green and yellow scarf at Old Trafford. Was hoping you lot weren't made up of that kind of support and didn't think you would be as a lot of you will remember the times where you were at the same level as us. You went one way, we went another.

My only visit to BC was a 2-1 victory with goals by the Jones boys - 1975 or 6, I think - And a surprisingly hostile reception from the locals totally failing to live up to their image as yokels unworthy of the attention of the rough boys from Lancashire. Then-partner and I removed for our own safety by the fuzz from the SEATS to stand behind the goal on (ISTR) an open end...

Define 'recent' history .

In all fairness I wish games like this were a big sell-out, because I love the cup, and I love seeing teams I haven't seen before. That said, I think it's a bit unfair to criticise folk who don't fancy shelling out extra sheets on a cup game to watch a team full of players they've never heard of play our reserves in a game played at half speed in front of about 8 ppl as folk who 'only turn up for United'. It strikes me as a different form of West Ham/ Newcastle fan one-upmanship. But it's OK, coz they have flares. And call themselves Ultras.

Really looking forward to this one, should be a good old fashioned blood and thunder cup match. Praying for the draw and a return leg on a freezing cold Tuesday night in late January aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, happy days. And York get a shed load of dosh out of it, a useful bonus for them.

Well if they're not those who have started most of the games then they are reserves, as they are not first choice. Regardless of semantics, those FA rules about minimum charge for Cup games is a bloomin' joke

our reserves are not usually stocked with players in the first team squad unless they are needing to get match fit after an injury or there is a specific reason..

this was the teamsheet for our last reserves fixture:

Lynch, Riley, Blakeman, Bennett, Eckersley, Connolly (MacGregor 65), Caton, Sheridan, McGeechan (Campbell 74), Vela, Eaves (Unused substitutes: Turner, Burns, Dennis)

they are the reserves - that's not the team that will play York City.

Either way, there's no excuse not to put out a strong team, given that we currently sit a whole 8 points from a total that would've kept you up last season. Surely, with how strongly Bolton fans feel about the cups, we should be going all out for the win?

This fixture has now been classified as ALL TICKET for York City supporters.

Tickets will NOT be available to buy on the day The club will be allocated initiailly 4,900 tickets.

Tickets will go on sale to Season Tickets from Wednesday 15th December from Bootham Crescent at 10am.

Tickets will go on General Sale on Thursday 16th at 10am. Prices: £15 Adult £12 Senior Citizens and £5 Under 16's

So back up to 4,900 as the "initial" allocation. Not bad for a "pub team".
