I'm not so much angry towards, just sick and fed up with having to listen to moaning students being given air time on Five Live.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Today I am, quite irrationally, angry at mother nature. Parts - perhaps the majority - of this country have been experiencing drought conditions for over ten years. In 'my' state just a year or so ago 99%+ was officially declared as a drought area. Earlier this year some reasonable falls arrived and the areas affected slowly but surely shrank. In the last couple of weeks the state was declared drought free. Farmers and livestock producers were finally walking around with smiles on their faces (those that are left, that is). So what happened to irk my sensibilities? More rain, that's what. Now half the state's rivers are in flood and a significant amount of the much anticipated bumper crop is now under water and either ruined or down graded to cattle feed (assuming there are cattle left to eat it).
It's enough to make a grown man cry, it really is. Things don't change much though as this second stanza of a poem by Dorothea Mackellar - often quoted in this country - shows:
Dorothea Mackellar (c. 1920 ?)
My Country
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!

People who give you their full medical history when you say "Alright" to them.
I mean yeah, technically I'm asking how they are but read between the lines. I'm just saying hello.

Pointy Haired Manager to Wally - "How are you today ?"
Wally - "Is that a genuine question about my welbeing or one of thos pap questions where you really don't care & just want me to say 'I'm fine' ?"
Manager - "One of the pap questions"
Wally - "I'm fine"
I've found that you can stun people by replying "I'm absolutely fantastic thanks. Brilliant." They don't know how to react.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
However, what I'm now blazing about is car drivers stopping in the middle of an ice-fringed carriageway to let some dotterer out. Oh, so let me get this right - you're not prepared to pull your car up onto the ice, but you do expect your unsteady-of-foot passenger to be able to walk across it whilst at the same time inconveniencing everybody on the road behind you?! This situation usually involves a car saying ROVER on it!
