As for the attendance every teams bar a select few have dropped over the years due to Sky tv and what not and this so called top four!

That was a poor game and our players did not play poor but over the years i have seen many where we should have won and did not,we took our chances you did not (bar one great save) These things happen in football, and for delusion in sunderland fans? Come on lads i have been through it all with the lads Fa cup finals winning and losing losing playoff games and winning them its part of football!

Its a strange game you beat the georides 5-1 some lads calling us geordies and smoggys on here (im from durham look it up its real) we lost 5-1 to them and we beat you 1-0 its a strange season, now i have no idea where both teams finish, i think we will still be 6th come boxing day due to snow calling off most games .

Regarding to the ref and cattermole intodays game should your player have walked also in the first half! tackle from behind ive seen lads go for less also davies throwing his arms about.

We took our chances what we had and won 1-0 football is about goals not how you play it. You dont win on corners you dont win on chances do you!

Good look for the rest of the season, only manchester united have a better home record than us this season so dont be too down hearted both managers were tits on the day!

m8 spot on and merry christmas to you and yours

I don't mind Bolton home crowds as you are a pretty small fry in the North West shadow and hold your own. Also, Bolton away is a good day out for Sunderland fans as it is classed as a 'close match' given our location, but 250 fans was pretty piss fecking poor like saying as last season you were saying 4500 were going to attend the SOL for Coyles first game until it was postponed. Your local rag were even claiming it even though our away end only holds 3100 max   In the end only a fraction turned up for the re-arranged game

Cool. Do you usually contradict yourself?
Now i was being all nice till you started .....

Dont be an idiot, have you gone down to Bristol so your IQ will fit in with the straw chowers?? Youre just embarrassed cos you didnt turn out arent you , or are you one of that travelling BLG branch, you certainly hiss on like one ...have i insulted your sense of colour ?

It was not in the least contradictory, how can it be when it was concerning degree, and when what constitutes "too deeply" is subjective.. :conf: So suppose the literal answer to your question is No and i havent on this occasion.

See yer at the Reebok lads...6 for us again this year
Mate, I wouldn't go speculating about my 'moving' around. I go to University here, and studying a web design degree.

Embarrassed I didn't turn out to the SoL? No, ta. Really.

I'm not being an idiot. But really, when you changed your tune to 'your support is shit', I wasn't having it. We're a club with a small fan base, so what? Support your team and we'll support ours. We don't need your 'insightful' posting about our turn out.

Trekking up there is a bit different when we've had a foot of snow and public transport/cars are unable to make it to the Reebok for coaches or even get off our driveways to consider heading up.

Might have been nice and clear up there, but that's not the case (even now) down here. Tosser.

Yes but you're forgetting that if there was 6ft of snow all the way from Sunderland to Bolton then Sunland would still bring 5000 plus fans as they single handedly ice pick their way through the snow and ice.

Thing is they're from Sunderland, what else is there for them to do?

I love how they get erections about their support, which is actually piss poor when you consider that there are only 2 premiership clubs in what a 150 mile radius or something?

This is what I couldn't get. Nearly every game in the country is postponed because of the treacherous weather conditions and they keep going on about a small turnout. At first I thought they were just taking the piXX but realized that they were actually serious. How isolated from civilization is Sunderland? Are they aware of what goes on outside Mackem country? Pretty sad really.

More impressive for 300 souls to head up there in those conditions, than all of your locals to make the effort.

Not quite the big draw you'd like to be, are you? Can't imagine Newcastle having that many empty seats.

So attendance makes one club bigger than another... yet history and tradition count for nothing? Because if they do, then Bolton are a much bigger club than Sunderland.

Does it matter?

We only seem to have this conversation when we play Sunderland or West Ham.

Size of club means nothing. Nothing.League positions. Silverware. Points on the board. Goals scored and conceded. That matters. I really don't give a shiny one how much bigger your town, fan base, stadium or viewing figures on Sky are than our. I really don't think not selling out your ground or away end constirtutes a crime against humanity and worthy of flogging. There are no rules against it. But hey ho, it's alright - they're "bigger" than us, therefore moral victory is gained.

Seriously, how old are these people that boff on about club size? It doesn't get the club any points.

Pathetic.

They genuinely think it should though!! That's worrying..

"We got beat 4-0 today"

"No you didn't.. the Premier League have been on.. Because they don't have that many fans, they've given you the points"
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"

Or not, looks like they were stating a fact to be honest? No need to open the upper tier, about 1000 in there..max...

Its a modern football fan thing. Its come from Sky and its overegging of the Sampions League and the teams in it.

There is this constant reference to a "top 4 club". Fans have to now believe their club is "big enough" to one day be considered a "top 4" club and be wanked over by Richard Keys, Andy Gray, Gary Lineker. Whilst fans of teams like Bolton, Blackburn, Fulham, Brum etc have all realised this will never happen, and hey you know what, it doesn't actually matter much anyways...

The likes of Sunderland and Newcastle and West Ham have never quite gotten over the fact that in the football shake up over the last 20 years they are smack in the bracket of clubs like Bolton, Wigan, Fulham, Blackburn etc and there is not the slightest thing they can do about it.

From someone who has spent a lot of time in Sunderland doing what most of them up there are clueless about, working, Sunderland is a shithole, end of, no wonder they love to escape to "better" places.

Exactly. And they'll be on to say "Bolton ain't exactly a palace is it?"

Which is true.

But its still not Sunderland.

Aye - good effort by those to set off early and travel up there when games are being called off all over the place.

As an aside, There are two words that come to mind when I think of Sunderland - Bramble and Titus.

Here he is scoring a screamer for them (amongst others).

Oh are they? How so?

We've won the top flight 6 times in our history. The 6th most successful club in the English league in terms of domestic league trophies. How many have Bolton won?
