Theres a whole new thread in this somewhere, but what point does it become a case of "sod it, thats too much"?

Apart from an important cup game, or a trip to Wembley I'm struggling to think how I could justify £41 for an away ticket.

We all know the score, with petrol being as it is, I'm looking at over 20 sheets to drive there, take my chances with parking, bit of scran, couple of scoops....

Thats probably over 80 notes, maybe a hundred if I'm not driving and I want a programme and a couple of bits and bobs.

Its only football. Am I wrong?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

No, I'd say you're being reasonable about it.

I am in Bolton when we play Chelsea away otherwise I would be spending £49 on a ticket. I get to see so few games at the Reebok these days that the occasional London games are justified.

If I lived in Bolton I would not pay the Arsenal's, Spur's, Chelsea's ticket prices.

I think most fans who used to go to every away game like myself, are doing the same sort of thing.

I guess when your younger and have few responsibilities and little else to do its fine to spend 40 odd quid to go to Liverpool, but now I think "well it'll be cold, we'll lose comfortably, then a miserable and usually slow journey home". Plus it means entering Merseyside, something I like to keep to a bare minimum.

So all in all if it was 20 quid, I'd be in. Maybe even 25 or 30.

But 40 plus and I'll give it a wide berth.

If people want to look at the "real" issues with football then I'd suggest start no further than ticket prices.

Likewise with Chelsea, and I am a youngster (21 still is, right?).

I'd like to go, but it's just too expensive for me and I know my Dad wouldn't want to pay that either.

Plus a loss, probably.

Nose bag is another £30-40 too............still cheaper than a ticket for Chelsea away, though!
Troll and proud of it.
