What was everyone's game of the year then?

Our staff poll result ended with Mass Effect 2 getting the top spot!

I bought it and had to rattle through the first one which I hadn't finished yet, so I shall find out shortly. I spent the first couple of months playing 2009's Assassin's Creed 2, that was brilliant.

Formula One is superb, I've been really impressed with it. Blur was huge amounts of fun. Predictably Call of Duty is up there as my choice, it's pretty darn good.

ME2, by a country mile. Cannot wait for ME3!!

F12010 is a brilliant game, but appeals only to a select market, whereas ME2 is pretty much an all-round cracker.

Oh, and game the year for me is definitely Call of Duty.

I haven't actually played the campaign, it's multi player modes are amazing though!

I will second this amazing tech and great fun. Would warn though that you need lots of space. You need at least 6ft between you and the sensor for one player and 8ft for two. And then from there you need plenty of room infront behind and to your sides.

I'd urge you to consider that you actually need more than 6 feet for *all* games with Kinect, especially if you want it to work 100% as it is supposed to. Also, it has issues with smaller children as well at times.

Oh and there are only a handful of good games for it and some truly appalling ones. But yeah, it really can't be overstated or exaggerated that you need a *lot* of space around you and to be honest, most people just won't have that kinda room.

Don't get me wrong, I love the device, but it's really up to Microsoft now to support it properly and not just "Go Wii" with it and release hundreds of shovelware mini-game collections.

Glad some people agree that Mass Effect 2 is GotY though!

We don't need too much room to be honest, we don't have kids though so can't comment on that, although my missus is small!

We only have a small terrace and manage fine.

I have Adventure and Sports games and they are brilliant!

Kinect Adventures I find to be pretty rubbish, but since it comes free with the device it gets away with it. It's has more input lag than any other Kinect game I've tried so far. Kinect Joy Ride is average at best.

Kinectimals is ace, but if you don't have kids, maybe not. Your Shape is pretty good as well and Dance Central is superb.

Dance Masters is okay, Deca Sports/Sports Island Freedom is awful, and Crossboard 7 is also awful most of the time.

As I said, MS need to support the device properly otherwise people will have a £130 addon that they play 2 games on, occasionally.

Can't say I've noticed particularly bad lag on Kinect adventures compared to anything else. In fact what I've been stunned by is the lack of lag.

I can add to the list, motionsports, avoid at all costs. Very poor.

Better games are required but I can't imagine them not coming.

You can't imagine them not coming? Well, E3 will be the big reveal as they've promised Kinect games for the hardcore!

Motionsports is awful, you are right.

The lag is most noticable in two player Rally Ball, and if you've not seen it, don't go looking for it as it'll ruin it for you.

Have played a good few hours on it but nowt exceesive. Does the aching in the thumbs & hands go after a while or do you have to live with it? Or worse, is it my age?

Red dead redemtion and black ops would be my best of 2010. Gears of war 3 is out in april which looks amazing from a few videos which are floating about. Looking forward to dead space 2 later this month aswell.
