I agree but from reading the rest of the comments he has been off form for awhile now.East Lower wrote:Backup? Nah, he'd be first pick if he could find his form.
Re: January transfer window...
Could be a great signing for us although £500,000 does seem a low price for a decent player. Would he buy into Owen's work ethic though? Although that seems to be a mute point as Petrov blatantly has

Means nowt. One good game and form returns with confidence - Owen is the perfect manager to do this.Eire_Trotter wrote:I agree but from reading the rest of the comments he has been off form for awhile now.East Lower wrote:Backup? Nah, he'd be first pick if he could find his form.

Re: January transfer window...
Didn't we actually put in a bid? Might have been as high as £12 million. Can't remember if that was just speculation.Worthy4England wrote:Veloso is a standing joke on here after Megson said signing him "would be like putting a tiara on a Shire horse" and we were linked with him for a number of transfer windows. We did put in some sort of bid but were millions of miles away on our valuation compared to theirs (think they wanted about 15m Euro or something stupid at the time)

Yeah we made a bid.. Both Sporting and ourselves went to press to say how far apart we were. We probably offered them a Mars Bar
Oh and TKIZ.. You mean 'was'
He now plays for Genoa

According to Sporting at the time....
1. Bolton Wanderers Football Club formally submitted two proposals for the transfer of the player Miguel Veloso:
a) permanent transfer upon payment of €10m, plus 10% of the added value of any future transfer;
b) loan until June 30, 2009 with payment of € 1.5 million under loan fee and an option set at € 10M

Re: January transfer window...
So they didn't state what they thought would be an adequate selling point?

Ah, as per TKIZ's release clause theory.
Aye, factoring in his wages, £3.5 Million (ish) is pretty far off

I'm not sure as to how one would answer that either way!?H. Pedersen wrote:Didn't we actually put in a bid?

Re: January transfer window...
Sorry Chief, I thinking my attempted post has confused some people but I was talking about Vukcevic, we wanted him also. We offered according to paper talk £5m and at the time his release clause was £12m.boltonboris wrote:Yeah we made a bid.. Both Sporting and ourselves went to press to say how far apart we were. If we are talking about Vukcevic and I've made this even more confusing then I apologise
