January transfer window...

I hate checking on the net and seeing Kranjar available. I would love to have him but just don't see it happening.

One of my ongoing concerns is Muamba. He's a great tackler at times, but I feel he does little more than that.Worthy4England wrote:Two of the top three tacklers in the Prem, in MF, are Holden (top) and Muamba (third). When we lose Holden, we lose any control in MF and end up defending a lot.

here's a new one...
meanwhile... (a bidding war would be nice)Bolton boss Owen Coyle wants to repeat his wonder workings with Jack Wilshere, with another Arsenal player.
Carlos Vela has heavily been linked with a temporary move away from the Emirates across the festive period, and Coyle would love to bring the Mexican to the Reebok Stadium on loan until the end of the season.
Arsenal are again lining up a move for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.
Cahill has been linked with a move to Chelsea this month.
But the Sunday Mirror says Arsenal once again are monitoring the availability of Bolton centre-back Cahill.
Bolton refused to listen to Arsenal’s overtures for the England star last summer, but if there’s any softening in Bolton’s positioning then the Gunners will pounce.
Re: January transfer window...
"Monitoring the availability" is something that always makes me laugh.
We're not going to transfer list him, so what they mean is they are trying to see how cheaply they can steal him from us.

there is special equipment that clubs use for this - two blokes operate it out of the back of a blacked-out transit - it's a player availability monitoring machine - it has lots of dials and knobs on it - and is state-of-the art... basically they follow a player around and point a secret hidden pointing device at him - and the machine tells them his current availability...

Chelsea FC target Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill in ‘buy British’ bid
According to reports Chelsea FC are ready to make a bid for Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill.
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed plans to buy an English centre-half as cover for injured Brazilian Alex.
The Mirror claims the Blues are poised to make a move for Bolton defender Cahill next month.
Wanderers would be able to clear a substantial amount of their debt should Cahill leave for the £15 million they are holding out for.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: January transfer window...
I suspect there are a good few players at Spurs for someone to pinch, but on the type of salaries and expectations the numpties will have I suspect we won't be getting any of them.
I haven't seen any good player-swap deals mentioned yet? Or is that later in the window when the press get desperate?

I like the look of the Vela deal. Can we not loan one of the millions in the Spurs squad for the second half of the season? Or will selling a few of our lot release some funds?

I'm not convinced another striker should be a priority to be honest though.

F*ck it, we're going to play 3-3-4 second half.

Unless we flog Elmander because he's stalling on his contract.hisroyalgingerness wrote:I'm not convinced another striker should be a priority to be honest though.

You could do a lot worse then taking Vela on loan - he's class and has a great eye for goal. Unproven at the top level but so was Wilshere!thebish wrote:here's a new one...

Is patrionisation a word? I watched your game against Birmingham yesterday. Johnson's tackle on Fabregas was absolutely textbook. Took the ball with stoods down. Your lot really are a bunch of absolute wankers!Gooner Girl wrote:You could do a lot worse then taking Vela on loan - he's class and has a great eye for goal. Take your wimps and poke them up your ringpiece. We don't need to develop players for the likes of you! X
