Sean Davis has knee-knack again

SEAN Davis looks set to be sidelined for the rest of the season after undergoing a second knee operation.
The midfielder missed virtually the whole of last term following surgery to repair an articular cartilage injury.
Davis looked to be on course for a successful return after coming through pre-season.
But the 31-year-old suffered a blow in a reserve team game against Manchester City in August after feeling discomfort in his knee.

I think it's time we gave up on him unfortunately. Get him back to fitness and send him on his way

Should have signed Jimmy Bullard.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Re: Sean Davis has knee-knack again
well yeah good point, but I just said that because I feel it would be very heartless to send him on his way now....but then again I suppose we don't owe him anything!

Re: Sean Davis has knee-knack again
It's not that it would be heartless its that we're still contracted to pay him. And that makes the second part of your statement incorrect.MJH-12 wrote:well yeah good point, but I just said that because I feel it would be very heartless to send him on his way now....but then again I suppose we don't owe him anything!

I meant to mutually terminate his contract

Not sure he'd be up for that. Which is kinda understandable.MJH-12 wrote:I meant to mutually terminate his contract

Isn't he jobless at the end of the season anyway?

Re: Sean Davis has knee-knack again
Pretty sure we (someone) gave him a three year deal at £35,000 per week

Feel really sorry for the guy. 3 games played and out for 18 months. Can see us getting rid when/if he gets fit again.

Re: Sean Davis has knee-knack again
So, it was 2.5 games rather than 3 due to not completing the LFC game that adds up to approx £2,184,000 per game. Feel sorry for him, no-one's fault etc etc but it makes you think...DJBlu wrote:YupEast Lower wrote:Pretty sure we (someone) gave him a three year deal at £35,000 per week

It might be time to pull a Shittu...
Was Davis on the 25-man squad at the beginning of the year? Can we take him off for the new one to be submitted at month's end?

Re: Sean Davis has knee-knack again
There is no way in the world he's on 35,000 a week, before bonuses he'd get for playing and the like. That's football manager talk.
Anyway, it's terrible for the guy.

We have to submit another squad at start of February, it can be totally different to our current one.SonsOfThunder wrote:It might be time to pull a Shittu...

Though I guess he was on decent money
I wonder if we have some insurances to cover us for the loss of an asset for such a prolonged period
Normal business practice
Assuming his injuries aren't related to owt that showed up on his pre-signing medical

Re: Sean Davis has knee-knack again
He'll be insured, almost certainly. And yeah, free transfer means decent money, but a lot will be bonuses and that. I'd imagine he'd be on 35k a week if he was Captain for every game as we won the league with him scoring 40.

I'm sure the club have insurance for such situations as this.
