Didn't he go on about Martinez being a purist the first time we met?
indeed..

October 2010:

COYLE: MARTINEZ A PURIST

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has praised counterpart Roberto Martinez for the mental strength he has shown in sticking to his footballing principles and guiding Wigan through their difficult start to the season.
"I have known Roberto for many years and he is very much a purist," Coyle said.
"He loves passing and moving the ball, and there are tremendous players in offensive positions for Wigan - the Rodallegas, the N'Zogbias. Di Santo is a terrific player, Boselli was a big-money signing.
"These are very good players and they look to retain that possession and pass and move the ball.
"All credit to Roberto because he came in for a bit of flak, as we all do as managers, at the start of the season and they have seen their way through that.
"He has shown tremendous mental strength and tremendous belief in what they are doing at Wigan and they have started moving themselves up the table.

Theres a thin line between Papist and Rapist. On so many levels.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

What is a Priapist?
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Coyle curls an early one off in Kenny's direction (in case he's sacked before we play them again...)
BOLTON boss Owen Coyle admits he was flattered to be linked with the Liverpool job – but reckons Kenny Dalglish will get it right at Anfield. Coyle insists fellow Scot Dalglish will revive Liverpool’s fortunes.

“Kenny is a terrific guy and I have a great relationship with him.

And now it's Pulis's turn to return the favour in his own way...... sort of..... well not really but it should wind up a few fans.

I am now off to the computer shop.

Well the quote has inspired some Bolton fan blogs to comments, lets hope it has the same effect on the players. That extra bit might mean the difference between a draw or a win.

Also hoping for a Stoke red card.

The problem was Gary did not have the relationship with the fans that Owen has got.
Absolutely Tony.

That and the small matter of actually winning football matches in a manner not reminiscent of Roller Ball.

Bloody details.

and so it coms round again..

Coyle in advance of the arsenal game:
Bolton manager Owen Coyle has launched a strong defence of Arsenal counterpart Arsène Wenger.

The Bolton manager believes the Gunners head to the Reebok Stadium on Sunday still very much in the Barclays Premier League title race.

Four draws from their last five games have hurt Arsenal's hopes of surpassing Manchester United and some supporters have expressed their frustration with Wenger as they near the end of what would be a sixth successive season without a trophy.

Coyle said: "They're six points behind Manchester United with Manchester United still to play. Arsenal have shown before that they'll be in the mix and I've got no doubts they've got a fantastic chance of winning the league.

"If I wasn't a football manager and someone said who would you go and watch, I would watch Arsenal every week because I love the way they play and the quality of the players they have.

"Arsène Wenger is, always has been and always will be a truly outstanding manager, one of the best managers in world football.

"We've had our arguments along the way but that goes without saying because he's passionate about his team and I am about mine, but you can never doubt the quality of Arsène Wenger as a manager and the teams he's built after he's lost big players year in and year out."

Coyle is keeping his hand in!
Owen Coyle is certain new Chelsea boss Andre Villas Boas will be a huge success at Stamford Bridge.

"Villas Boas is a tremendous addition to the Premier League," said Coyle.

"I know him well. I did my pro-licence with him and really took to him.

"He is a fantastic manager, who has achieved such a lot at such a young age.

"He has so many attributes. He will be a great fit with Chelsea.

"There is no doubt he will be a huge success."

Right on cue, from the Guardian website:
Coyle believes City are the strongest they have been in the Premier League era and credited Mancini for the work he had done. He said: "I think that has come from the manager and he has to be applauded. It is fine to be afforded that wealth but sometimes you can assemble these players but not necessarily have a great team.

"I think they are getting it right. They have got a strong team with good individual players within that. They have integrated that group and they look formidable opposition."

He's 'at it' again!

“But with Roy, If you ask anyone in the world and mention his name they will tell you, he is one of the top coaches in world football. He has shown that with his longevity and the fact he is always a wanted man.”

“He was tested at Liverpool, no doubt about it, but if you look at quality of the job he did at West Brom it shows what an amazing manager he really is."

“Out with the football and the coaching side, though, Roy is a terrific man. There is nothing he doesn't know.”
