Sometimes, you can play out of your skin and still not win. Sometimes, you can be utterly crap and scrape a lucky goal and gain 3 points. Sometimes, after a good run where your team play exciting football, you suddenly think your Real Madrid and should be winning every week. We've been very unlucky in our past few games and ended up with nothing. 18 months ago we would have probably lost to Wigan. It's all about perspective, and at present I feel we are doing well, irrespective of some of the results. And for the knobheads who booed at the final whistle last night, f*ck off down the road and support MU. Supporting the Wanderers always involves ups and downs, and I for one wouldn't want it any other way; it's what footballs about, the unknown. The anticipation of a good win, the excitement of beating a team that, before kick off, you hope you can stop them scoring more than 4 against you. The frustration of a loss to a 'lesser side', or as last night demonstrated, not scoring a winner, when on another day, we could have scored 5.

I never thought I'd type this but, 'in fairness to the drummers', the drummy cheat thing was for that shithouse Phil Dowd who gave a fecking freekick to Kirkland. Don't get me wrong it's awful to see him yet again leave a football pitch due to injury but someone getting hurt does not autofeckingmatically mean foul.

There was a demonstration yet again that there is a certain dickhead element amongst our fans. Booing at half time? Poor half, god yes, but booing when you are seventh?! There were also a few, not many, but audiable boos when Rodrigo was subbed for Petrov. Dear fecking me.

Dreadful first half, picked up in the second but we just could not take our chances. Elmander's finishing was woeful. The first was was almost identical to Odemwingie for West Brom, and just as he should have left it for Brunt, Elmander should have left it for the onrushing, facing the net, on his stronger foot Taylor. The one over his shoulder, yes they are difficult, but still have to expect better than tamely passing it at the keeper. He also had a third where he flopped over like a ponce after Pollit spilled it. On his day he is a cracking player, but he can't half be infuriating!

They were terrible. Properly shit. And I was suprised Cpt Purist tippy tappy bullshit seemed so happy for a point from the first minute. If they slip ven slightly once from their Megson-esque scrape an unlikely win when all looks lost form then they are well and truly Domed.

Also, told you Rodallega was gash.

I really dislike the booing too, we were very unlucky not to secure 3 points last night but I could tell it just wasn't going to happen, all Elmander has to do is to put the ball in a corner not just blast it straight and hope for the best, I'd expect that from a premiership striker, as for Muamba it amazes me how poor his first touch and his passing is.

To be fair the booing for Kirkland was due to his general time wasting from where I was sitting it didn't look bad at all but it obviously was, and the majority of people who booed earlier stood and clapped when they realised it was a serious injury!

Davies should have scored his header too Pru.

And Muamba had the best chance of the lot. All he had to do was keep it down.

I think Elmander hit the one over his shoulder pretty well, too well in fact. Not sure he "tamely passed it back" to be fair.

I can excuse Elmander our top scorer missing some chances far more easily than I can our midfield player who can't pass a 6 yard ball under little pressure, who breaks up every forward move we have by stumbling or giving a poor pass, who doesn't have the brains to realise that when Davies goes on a run he needs to fill the gap in behind, and who ball watches far more than he actually reads the game.

Aye, and Cahill should have scored his second header. In fact I think that was the easiest of the lot. Doesn't mean Elmander shouldn't have scored his either, rather everything seemed to fall to him and he seemed to miss everything, which is frustrating. I think you are a bit harsh on Muamba, his chance for me was the most difficult of any mentioned so far, bouncing, had to adjust, and let's be honest he isn't there to score goals. There were many reasons to be frustrated at him last night, but not scoring shouldn't be one of them. He looks tired and is missing Holden. Also he is clearly a confidence player and after he gave the ball away twice in about 30 secs in the first half he just didn't want it anymore. Coyle was bawling at him for trying to smash it off one of them for a throw in instead of trying to play, and Robbo had a go at him towards the end when he passed it back to him instead of going forwards. He needs a break, some confidence and Holden back.

The Cahill header looked like a golden chance, but if you look carefully, Kirkland gets a faint touch and the ball rises slightly. Cahill just couldn't get that extra inch on his jump

can't believe the shite that is spouted about Muamba on here. he has limitations but the lad is developing a hump on his back because of carrying our midfield for the best part of two and a half seasons. Holden is a gem but lets reserve judgement on the respective contributions of Holden/Muamba until Davies/Holden play together regularly. Fab's "miss" last night was hardly a gimme - he arrives late in the box and has a split second to make a connection- sometimes they get sclaffed and go in sometimes you make too good a strike and they dont.
i still believe Muamba is a large part of the reason we are 7th

Let's face it, all the chances we missed should have been scored, and it's the fault of the players that they didn't.

That said, we should have lost heavily against WBA and didn't, so sometimes things just go in your favour and other times they don't.

Pretty sure that much of that was for not taking Taylor off instead of Rodrigo. Taylor was absolutely gash last night- looked like he was running uphill both ways. Petrov sulks off the pitch faster when subbed. That being said can't boo my own team whatever the circumstances.

Not blaming Elmander last night as he made good contact with his shots. Nothing was going in for us and om another day we would have had 5. The game was crying out for some pace on the left wing from the off. Their RB was the worst I have seen for aeons.

Aye booing the managers subs when we are 7th. Is that how it works, every time Coyle does something I don't exactly agree with I boo? he's made subs that have seemed weirder this year that have come off, so, what with us being 7th and all I'm going to assume he knows what he is doing. I didn't join in with the booing when GM was here, but I could at least see the frustration and the reasons that led to it. Booing coz we aren't winning essentially. Dear. Me.

ESL scoreboard corner give Bolton fans a bad name, you don't boo your team when you're in 7th. You get behind them.

They claim to be the ones who do all the singing. In reality, it's just 40 pre-pubescent kids shreeking 'wanky wanderers' for 90 minutes. Any chant that gets around the ground starts in the North stand.

Elmander's finishing was woeful. The first was was almost identical to Odemwingie for West Brom, and just as he should have left it for Brunt, Elmander should have left it for the onrushing, facing the net, on his stronger foot Taylor.
He was 10 yards out from goal and is in the form of his career, it would've been insanity on his part to leave it. More often when not when players start second guessing each other it all ends up in a terrible mess anyway.

He was well within his rights to take on the shot, as any striker would. He tried, he missed. There's not much more to it, move on and try and score the next one (he missed, but you get the point).

FWIW I think Elmander was just trying to get it on target, which was something Owen mentioned about him a while back. More often than not if he hits the target from there it'll find it's way in.

Personally its clear to me that our weakest areas are in midfield and at the back.
Davies has 7. Elmander has 9. Both are in the Top 10 goalscorers in the league. How many more would you have expected them to have in January?

Three teams have scored more goals than us (Arsenal, United and Chelsea).

One team has kept less clean sheets.

There hasn't been much wrong with our season so far, but it doesn't take much to work out what the (minor) problem is. Incredibly short-sighted for people to be picking over one game in which our front-line hasn't fired.
