This is a must win in my book irrespective of one's views on the importance of the cup- even if just to boost confidence

Bogdan
Ricketts Cahill Knight Robinson
Davies(M) Muamba Taylor
Moreno Klasnic Petrov

get the job done by half time then use what we have left on the bench

I'm going for this:

-----------Bogdan-------------
Steiner---Ricketts---Knight---Robinson
Moreno--Davies (M)--Muamba--Petrov
-------Blake-- Coyle (O)----------

2 - nil. Blake and Coyle. The oldest strike partnership in the universe.

You heard it here first.
I'd rather support Bolton than be you.

Thing is Pru where you've said "anybodies" we have to pick players and from what I've heard OC won't throw anyone outside of the senior squad in.
Gone a bit quiet recently from those who wanted to see Cahill in midfield...

He'll be in if he's back I'm sure. But I don't know if he'll be back and understandably so!
Funeral was eight days ago. I don't wish to be harsh and it's nice to see employers giving grieving-leave but it's hardly like we're awash with players and nor is it like the club hasn't been understanding and supportive. Might just do Tamir some good to get back to work. Discuss.

I think it'd be a good idea, good for us, good for him, but ultimately it has to be his call as to whether or not he is ready. No point forcing him if his head is going to be elsewhere. Central midfield in a cup tie against an underdog is not the place for wandering minds.

Re: The Cahill thing, I think it's a bad idea, but I was thinking before that if it is going to get a try, now would be the time, since somebody needs to come in for Moo. No point rushing back Pea Head given how vital he is to us, and if Tamir still isn't back.

now we're really domed...
Bangor City have announced that they have agreed terms with York City for the transfer of the League's leading scorer Jamie Reed.

The fee is undisclosed, but in November it was announced that the club had turned down a five-figure sum for the seventeen-goal forward. Reed will be available to make a sensational debut for the former Football League club against Premier League outfit Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday in the FA Cup.

Bet he scores hat-trick against like a certain other little tyke who played for Chesterfield. Wonder what happened to him?

Thats probably partly cos we only have five fit defenders (two left backs)

If we had AOB say I would advocate Cahill in centre mid if it meant Muamba getting a needed rest

Regardless of the pointless cock-fight that had dominated most of this thread, just want to say that I'm really looking forward to my first visit to the Reebock on Sat. Hope we can give you a good game.

Who should we look out for? Any potential match-winners that could bring a certain dome ( - Doom - in-joke) over the stadium?

Any promising young 'uns who can possibly be seen at the top in years to come?

Welcome by the way Al!

Got my tickets for this and fairly looking forward to it.

Definitely want a good cup run this year and we could do without a replay at the moment so might as well go for it. (Does Coyle know any other way?!)

Last season I would have said Richard Brodie, but he buggered off to Crawley, and we've been a bit all over the place this season. Dreadful start, but things are improving under new manager Gary Mills. Michael Rankine is our main goal threat - huge guy. We've got a winger on loan from Leicester, Ashley Chambers, who is very fast - I've been impressed with him from what I've seen so far. On his day, our keeper Michael Ingham is one of the best in our league, although he has been known to go AWOL on big occasions. Don't know anything about this new guy we've got from Bangor, Jamie Reed - impressive goalscoring record (37 last season). Not sure what we paid for him either, but it's a record for Bangor. He's available to play you guys - although I suspect he'll start on the bench.

I'll be suprised if Cohen isn't back. Tragedy aside, I think he'll recognise that this is his chance to get back into contention. A good showing against York and he'll probably get 10 games between now and the end of the season. Even if he's not right mentally I think he'll give it a go. Unless he's done with the game for the time being...

--------------Bogdan-------------------
-Steinsson--Knight---Ricketts----Alonso-
-Rodrigo----Holden---Taylor-----Petrov--
-----------Klasnic----Blake--------------

is my guess for the team. I'd go much weaker than that (Connolly, Sheridan, Eaves, Coyle, Riga, recall Obadeyi, re-sign Ricky Shakes ect.) but there you go.

Is that the Michael Rankine who used to play for Preston? He'd be about 90 now right?

That's his uncle, Mark Rankine, you're thinking of. Michael Rankine is 25. Will be interesting to see how he does against whichever centre back partnership you go with.

According to today's Bolton News, Stiener and Klasnic if fit will play, as will Petrov and Blake, Cohen returns this weekend and wont be considered.
Regarding the lack of subs in recent games OC is quoted as saying :

The kids were given a week off over Christmas and New Year,” he said. “if there were one or two that were playing out of their skin and had earned the right, then I would be quite happy to bring them in.

But I wasn’t going to give somebody a free pass, as they say. If they have earned it, they will come right into the squad.
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion
