I've heard he's better at FIFA to be honest.

Re: david wheater
I'm happy about this. From what I've seen of him, he'll be a threat to Knights place.

Re: david wheater
I think it is a good deal. Doesn't look like it is going to cost too much. We now have cover and if teams make a run at Cahill it allows us to play hard ball and get the best price possible which not leave us totally screwed if the deal isn't concluded until the last day of the transfer period.

Knight had so much time on the ball yesterday, it was obvious just how poor a footballer he isHarry Genshaw wrote:I'm happy about this. From what I've seen of him, he'll be a threat to Knights place.
I can pass a ball better than him

Re: david wheater
Caps as much as what you say is absolutely true, every so often Knight does pick out an inch perfect Beckenbauer pass straight to one of the wingers.CAPSLOCK wrote:Knight had so much time on the ball yesterday, it was obvious just how poor a footballer he isHarry Genshaw wrote:I'm happy about this. But generally he's shite you are correct.
However, I'd argue that whilst its nice to have a defender that can pass the ball, its more important they can defend. Whether that applies to Knight or not I'll let others debate.
But I don't see you complaining about our central midfield player who definitely does have passing in his job description, being unable to pass simple sideways 6 yard balls without falling over, misplacing or over/under hitting the ball.
Re: david wheater
Has Fabrice recently slept with a close relative of yours?
I don't recall you saying much about him either way before, now you can't go a post without mentioning how he is worst footballer alive and the bane of the club.
Recent pass completion stats for Muamba and whoever he was playing with:
Wigan (H): Muamba - 66% Mark Davies - 80%
Liverpool (A): Muamba - 43% Mark Davies - 52%
Chelsea (A): Muamba - 75% Stuart Holden - 81%
West Brom (H): Muamba - 85% Stuart Holden - 81%
Sunderland (A): Muamba - 66% Stuart Holden - 52%
Blackburn (H): Muamba - 75% Stuart Holden - 72% (Note: Muamba came on as a substitute in the 58th minute)

You can use those stats to make out like Muamba is a great central midfield player if you want.
But I think those watching him can see he's not progressed from what he was when he came here, a good chaser and tackler that lacked a football brain and an ability to pass a ball. At his best he's very destructive and a joy to watch, which I think is why I'm getting so frustrated with him as his best eludes him all too often and when it does its sometimes like watching a complete train wreck on the pitch. He frustrates me more than any of our other players.
I'm not suggesting we drop him because we can't at the minute, but he's certainly someone we could improve in IMO.
Re: david wheater
stop right there sonny! he was not using stats to "prove Muamba is a great central midfield player" - merely to counter your claim about Muamba - "being unable to pass simple sideways 6 yard balls without falling over, misplacing or over/under hitting the ball."BWFC_Insane wrote:Tombwfc wrote:Has Fabrice recently slept with a close relative of yours?

They also prove we are badly missing Holden, but we knew that already didn't we?
Not too sure about this Wheater fella yet, but based solely on age; AoB-out Wheater-in is a step in the right direction.

Re: david wheater
Dunno why this has turned into a Muamba bash buuuut my opinion is he was our best player last season. He's having an iffy run of form. He looks tired. He aint the greatest centre mid, but he is one of the best two who play for Bolton Wanderers. Unless we improve on him, he is in the side.
As for Wheater, my recollection wasn't of him being slow and lumbering? Certainly not that quick either in fairness but I didn't have lack of pace being an issue with him. Am I wrong?

6ft 5. I'm sure he'll be pretty quick once he gets moving but usually defenders of this height are a tad slow on the turn.Mind you we'll have a hell of a basketball team.

Re: david wheater
Wrong thread for it, but if Muamba was a holder in a 3 man central midfield, he'd be fecking top class! We're not using him correctly
