They certainly aren't the best at handling matters like this are they.

You'd have to give them marks for consistency though.seanworth wrote:They certainly aren't the best at handling matters like this are they.

the O'Neill thing seems to have gone awful quiet....
from the KUMB frontpage..
from the KUMB frontpage..
Former Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has refused to comment on speculation linking him with Avram Grant's job.
Despite Grant stating on Saturday night that it was 'business as usual' as far as he was concerned - and with his employers preferring not to comment on the constant speculation regarding his future, rumours remain rife that Grant is set to be fired imminently - although that has been the case for the last 48 hours, at least, with the likes of Sky and the BBC guilty of jumping the gun this weekend.
One of the bookies favourites for Grant's job is Allardyce, who made his name as a coach at Bolton before being fired by both Newcastle and Blackburn.
But when questioned by Sky earlier this evening he claimed that he had received no contact from West Ham, adding: "Avram has not been released from his position so it is not for me to speculate on that."
The main favourite - for a position that, quite ludicrously, isn't even available at this moment in time - is of course Martin O'Neill, who is rumoured to have got cold feet this weekend after being 'furious' at the manner in which his link to the (non-vacant) post was leaked.
But tomorrow's Telegraph insists that O'Neill will still accept a deal that will bring him to Upton Park for the rest of the season with view to a longer term deal, should he manage to keep West Ham in the Premier League.

I also agree about MON trying to claim the moral high ground with this Allerdician "not behind another managers back" bulls***. He and his people have been negotiating for weeks yet he is piously pretending to be aggreived now that his dealings have become public knowledge. He should now sh*t or get off the pot.

Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
what is it with West Ham and signing crocked players???Grant, who could make a quick return to football as director of football at Chelsea if he is sacked, is still actively pursuing transfer targets.
He is keen on bringing in £7million Hoffenheim striker Demba Ba in time for West Ham's trip to Everton this Saturday.
Yet there must be a big question-mark over the deal, as the player has already seen a switch to Stoke collapse because of a failed medical.
The Midlands outfit may try to bring in Ba on loan until the end of the season with the promise of making it permanent if he can prove his fitness.

They get them at knocked-down prices - £7m for a crocked striker is excellent value.thebish wrote:what is it with West Ham and signing crocked players???

I like the way he's failed a medical elsewhere, but West Ham will give him a chance to "prove his fitness".thebish wrote:what is it with West Ham and signing crocked players???Grant, who could make a quick return to football as director of football at Chelsea if he is sacked, is still actively pursuing transfer targets.

I can't think of many things that you could fail a medical on that are a "bit subjective" and "he might be ok to play, we'll just have a look see"?

Don't be silly Gold and Sullivan are "backing their manager" which is the "right thing to do".
It has nothing at all, nowt whatsoever, not a tiny bit or anything honest guvnor to do with Martin O'Neill turning them down.

What a complete bitch.
In a normal World she'd be gone now. Importantly the players know it's true.
Grant must be on one hell of a pay off for them to be keeping him on .... & trying to have him resign. Plus him refusing to resign no matter what they do to him. He has a 4 year contract. I wonder if he's due ALL that if they boot him ???
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: West Ham are complete failures! Let's all laugh at 'em!
I've just been reading some of the comments from West Ham fans regarding their battle with Spurs for the Olympic Stadium. Here are a couple of glittering gems:
"Do not like the idea at all of having England's most passionate supporters having to go to a new stadium where they will be furthest away from the pitch..."
"...give it to West Ham, who are actually from East London, will not destroy the stadium and still have a big enough fan base to fill it reasonably well. Spurs aren't a bigger club than West Ham."

Do you know whether the arrangement will be that they are simply GIVEN the stadium ? Or will they have to buy it (on, doubtless, very advantageous terms) ?
I've long thought that the David twins & that nice girl, Karen Peschisolido, have only got involved to made a land & property killing but the whole Premier League should object if they get a new ground at unreasonably beneficial terms.

The way I understand it Spurs will spend £300m on purchasing the stadium, ripping up the athletics track and refurbishing Crystal Palace Athletics Stadium (which Crystal Palace FC then want to move into).
Spurs have spent the last couple of years buying up to 30 acres of land around White Hart Lane ostensibly for the re-development of the current stadium. This has been aided by Haringey Council issuing CPOs etc. as Spurs are the BIGGEST SINGLE EMPLOYER in the area and they want Spurs to stay. Haringey Council are angry because Spurs now aim to raise the money for the Olympic stadium redevelopment by selling this land ( and White Hart lane) for residential development.
If anyone should be gifted the stadium (like Man.City) it should be West Ham.
