We might as well play long ball compared to what we did yesterday. Robinson to Petrov, back to Robinson, back to Petrov, Petrov to Knight, Knight looks confused, Knight attempts a long hoof upfield, a dodgy cross-field ball, or passes it to Muamba, Muamba has his back to goal, passes to Jussi, Jussi nice people it, we lose possession.

Tom I'll be honest, I don't remember us making that many passes at any point in the game!

I thought it was funny when Elmander gave Cech the ball back after a drop-ball some clever dick shouted 'that's the nearest you'll get all night, you shithouse'.

Not wrong.

Which was a million miles nearer than our other centre forward ever looked like getting.

I thought on the night, Elmander was one of our better performers.

Well he didn't do too much wrong. I'm not too certain what people expect, he had no service what-so-ever.

Difficult to do much on the ball when you're scared of jumping for it against big bad defenders

Yes, we know you don't rate him very much.

He was way better than Davo last night, who in my opinion gave up because he was marked out of the game by their defence.

(That's not me saying I'd rather have Elmander and sell Davo or owt - just that Davo was pi$$ poor last night)

True, Davies was extremely poor. As poor as I think I've ever seen him - Terry had his number all night long.

As for Elmander, whether I rate him or not, there can be little doubt in my mind that the lad has a fear - he did the same against Blackburn where he would shit out of challenging the bigger boys in playground. Makes it look like he's not trying.

I'm glad someone else saw it like me. Was beginning to think I was going mad!

I don't disagree with that particularly. He looks scared of heading the fecker (sometimes when he's unchallenged) - nasty, big wet ball!

Edit: He's actually scored more with his head this season than Davo. :-)

There was a bit of a to do at one point between Taylor and a bloke on the front row of the Lofthouse Stand - he said something and Taylor shouted along the lines of 'fack owf, you kant' - which was nice!

Good for Taylor - again, one of our marginally better players last night, but we shouldn't let what's happening on the pitch affect the really witty comment you were about to make, based on the fact "All me mates agree with me"

OK then;

Petrov: I can't believe how poor the final ball was last night, if you are going to beat your man at least get a decent ball into the box. He is lazy doesn't track back and has zero pace we might as have played Kevin Davies on the left wing (see below). The fact he sulks when getting subbed of is an utter disgrace there is no wonder he gets subbed after performances like that, I can forgive the odd bad ball into the box but I fail to remember a dangerous ball whipped in from the left last night and since all are attacks came from that side shows how toothless we really were.

Davies: was a shadow of his former self the work-rate has dropped significantly he is incapable of making a simple control and pass, the amount of times he took a heavy touch then had to slide in to a Chelsea player to TRY and retrieve the ball. He won naff all in the air, I would describe him s being in JT's pocket all night. I would expect him of all people to rise to the occasion and put 110% in at the very least.

We desperately need some pace up front and some competition for places

Aye agreed. It took Taylor playing on the wrong side to show Petrov that its a good idea to beat your first man with a cross, the first (and probably only) really good delivery we got into the box.

Its got to the point where I don't think anyone can justify not starting Taylor if Petrov is the alternative.

probably get slated for this Owen's pretty similar to smeggo, in respect of having no plan B. whereas smeggos was sit back and defend at all costs and throw on another midfielder or defender. Owen's all out attack attack attack isn't the answer either. as someone stated earlier we need to be more flexible a 4-3-3 changing to a 4-5-1 when needed, as for personnel i don't know.
by the way Jamie O'Hara wants out of Spurs a young industrious midfielder just Coyle's type.
