Re: What are you watching tonight?
Seen it half-a-dozen times but I'm watching Brassed Off tonight. With Pete Postlethwaite dying a short while ago, the pit theme, Nat being a pit lad, and his funeral tomorrow it seems right somehow. A hell of a good film anyway, but if you know the story behind Roderigo's Concierto Aranjuez it's doubly fitting for right now.

Just watched Black Swan. by far the best film ive seen in ages! Loved the darkness to it, the music, the subleties in the transformation, genius film.
Portman must have that Oscar nailed, Vinny Cassel is quality as always, and Mila Kunis is quite possibly the fittest girl on the planet!
I'm watching it again...

Watched that Gypsy Weddings thing - good god. Did you see that fat Wigan dobber? Then her mum! Looked like a prozzie from Red Dead Redemption.

I'm probably the only one watching this... The Killing (see above)
but the swedish star of the show - Sofie Grabol - it's been bugging me who she reminds me of - and, today, it all clicked into place - it's Jenny Agutter...

Watched 'Juventus - a Century of Emotions' (serious title) - bizarre set-up, pretty much just DVD chapters and a ton of footage. Footage superb, navigaton = shit.

The good, good people (TM) have sent me Sherlock Holmes, so I shall put the bins out and then watch it with a nice Pinotage Shiraz and maybe a ramekin of salted nuts.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Watched Kurosawa's Throne of Blood, his translation into Japanese history of Macbeth.
He follows Shakespeare very closely... nothing wrong with that...
Gave it 3 stars on the Lovefilm 'rate this' thing... but the death by arrows was very stylish...

Half way through it, I'm guessing the big improvement is in the second half?Verbal wrote:10 O Clock Live.

They were more relaxed which made me more relaxed as a viewer.Worthy4England wrote:Half way through it, I'm guessing the big improvement is in the second half?Verbal wrote:10 O Clock Live.

And the general premise of the program is now clear that its not a pure comedy or satirical show, but more of a mix.
I like it.

Laverne is still useless.
Carr is still a nice person.
Mitchell is still so scripted.
I still can't stop staring at Brooker's hair.
Not sure.

Out of them all Brooker annoys me the most.Lofthouse Lower wrote:Laverne is still useless.

Not sure.
Laverne did more of a cementing things together last night which worked well.
I'm not a Carr fan but I think he works well in that format.
Mitchell is just brilliant as far as I'm concerned.
I just find Brooker irritating on so many levels.

Why are they all so self satisfyingly smug?............

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I think this is part of the problem they have. Whichever way you look at this collection of people, there's always going to be at least one of them that you can't stand. It was great to see Mitchell "terrorising" Campbell. Fook me luv, leave that to Paxman...Lofthouse Lower wrote:Laverne is still useless.
