Re: January transfer window...
This never ceases to amaze me, Tom. Over Christmas when the snow was down I was sat watching SSN where they had some guy stood at a racecourse reporting on the conditions. Of course, the course was snowbound. Anyway, as they go back to the studio, the girl presenting says "And you can get odds of 5 to 4 (or somesuch) as to whether or not that meeting goes ahead". It was at that very point that I also thought - how deep must your gambling addiction be if etc. etc.Tombwfc wrote:(seriously, how deep must your gambling addiction be if you're guessing where Pavlyuchenko will be playing next week?)

Re: January transfer window...
Let us place our trust in the OC, OK we have missed out on a few players but none who I thought would be amazing, I am sure OC has someone lined up and if not we (until last week) got into the top 10 with what we have got so if we can get abit of confidence back and CYL back on the right then there is hope, If Wheater and Cahill can stop the leaking tap, were bound to score a few at the other end and save our money for the summer

Re: January transfer window...
I'd love for us to get this Dale Jennings lad before one of the big clubs snap him up, plays on the wing for tranmere, get him now for a couple of million, and we'll have a crackin player on our hands, one for the future for sure!

It may be only Plymouth but only someone with talent at the age of 18 can tear a team apart, hes got great pace and can finish!

Ahh yes cos we're shitaussie_wanderer wrote:no one wants to come here

Whilst we are bottom of the form table, form is temporary, class, and being able to pay bigger wages than the majority of the 92 league clubs is a bit more permanent.

I'm not ITK at all. A few days ago it seemed like it was either going to be a crazy last couple of days of the window for us.. or a damp squib. Looking more like a damp squib at the moment. Either way I'm pretty happy. I'd even settle for getting silly money for Cahill and Elmo, maybe with one more coming in.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Re: January transfer window...
if we sell cahill and or elmander this late in transfer window, wouldnt give us much time to get any replacements, and with those 2 gone our squad would be even smaller,

Right on cue The Oracle cuts through the doom and gloom with this:

Monsieur Nixon also says that a deal for Stephen Ireland has been 'mooted' but he would be on top wages of £40k. He'll be going to Toon instead

Sturridge would be a good one,Ireland also, not quite the midfield allrounder I was hoping for but certainly would be a useful addition.A ray of hope indeed,I'll set aside the hopes dashed dram for later.TKIZ! wrote:Right on cue The Oracle cuts through the doom and gloom with this:

According to the fountain of all transfer news, SSN Brian Swanson, SWP has handed in a transfer request. The only two destinations mooted would be Foolham and the Wanderers.
City are also toying with the idea of a £5m bid for Al-Habsi

Well, this article suggests Sturridge might be on the way to us:aussie_wanderer wrote:no chance of pav coming here

No quotes or anything, so no idea if there's anything to it. He never seems to score, but at least he'd have some pace and presumably hunger. I'm still intrigued to see what'll happen if we get a kid striker on loan where we've presumably guaranteed a good number of starts. Will it be SKD or Elmo that's rested? Gotta presume the latter.
Everything but the game: Because it's not just a game, it's a way of life.
Re: January transfer window...
He's a bit of a weird one is Sturridge, has the pace and power but sometimes no end product. I think he is a much better option than Vela though.Dartisan wrote:Well, this article suggests Sturridge might be on the way to us:aussie_wanderer wrote:no chance of pav coming here

Re: January transfer window...
You could make a good case for either at the minute - Davo has still only managed 3 goals from open play this season.Dartisan wrote: Will it be SKD or Elmo that's rested? Gotta presume the latter.

I hear you on this Worthy. Either could be 'rested', the goals have dried up a bitWorthy4England wrote:You could make a good case for either at the minute - Davo has still only managed 3 goals from open play this season.Dartisan wrote: Will it be SKD or Elmo that's rested? Gotta presume the latter.
