Let's wait for the pitch, shirt, grin before getting a semi-on.

To be fair, i dont think SWP would get a game under Mancini full stop anymore...their entire squad could be struck down with rabies from a crazed rabbit with a vendetta against footballers going on a toothy carrot-fuelled rampage around the training ground, and SWP would still only make the bench, perhaps coming on as a sub for Mavis the tea lady in injury time.

So you never know, but according to Mancini yesterday, they hadnt had any offers for SWP anyway (didnt say if there'd been enquiries).

Faye off to Celtic on loan.

Wouldn't mind giving him a bell to stop off at the Reebok on his way - get him in to cover defence and midfield.....

Chris Bevan: reports: "Lots of rumours surrounding possible Man City bids for wingers (Hulk, Matt Jarvis and Santi Cazorla to name but three) today following Adam Johnson's injury, but I'm told the chances of Roberto Mancini making a late splash in the transfer market are "hugely slim". In terms of players leaving Eastlands, Shaun Wright-Phillips was linked with Bolton and Fulham before Johnson was sidelined but City have not received any bids for him yet anyway.

@IanWade85 Hi Ian. Not disgusted at refusal to sell. Just incredulous that he is being talked about fee-wise in the same bracket as D Villa.

#WHUFC say they do not expect any first-team players to leave before tomorrow's transfer deadline.

It is absolutely NOT TRUE that #WHUFC have turned down a bid from #THFC for Scott Parker, as has been reported. Am still at West Ham.

Tim at Sky Bet: Fernando Torres out to 4/1 to be a Liverpool player tomorrow after we see some significant money on him joining Chelsea.

Even bigger chance of getting sturridge if Torres joins, they say bid has been accepted too

Make that 6/4 and liverpool are out for Carroll

Eurosport:
Blackburn, Fulham and Bolton all had scouts watching Björn Vleminckx this weekend. NEC Technical director Carlos Aalbers: "The bid we had was far below our expectations." Tottenham were linked last week.

I suspect Sturridge deal is dependant upon Torres.

I also can see it falling through. But hey lets stay optimistic. Would be a good signing if we pull it off!

Would love to see Paul Merson or Phil Thompson saying his name (Björn Vleminckx) on Soccer Saturday!

I think there are a few deals dependant on the Torres deal....Carroll / Young / Adam to Liverpool. Sturridge to Bolton.

I suspect its not that complicated for the Sturrdige deal though. Carroll isnt in the picture, Adam is a midfielder and won't break the bank despite what Holloway says. Young?

BBC Radio 5 live's Mike Sewell reports: Shaun Wright-Phillips is expected to stay at Manchester City unless a permanent deal can be done. The injury to Adam Johnson wouldn't stop SWP from being sold. City are understood to only be interested in doing a deal which ends in a permanent transfer. West Ham, Fulham and Bolton have all enquired about loans until the end of the season. On the subject of Johnson's injury, I'm told City could bring in extra cover but no big name expected.
