Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
I always make this mistake when I'm in Bristol, I ask lads at work what they're doing for dinner, I get replies like 'going round the inlaws', 'might go to that new Italian?' or 'ooh, got a couple of quality steaks' - I'm thinking 'kinell, posh nice people. Was just gonna get a growler from Greggs!'

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Had a weekend of eating myself into oblivion :
1) Saturday pre-match lunch, went to that new Frankie & Benny's place on the Reebok. Had garlic doughballs (6/10) and an American Hot pizza with salami and green chilli (7/10) - overall 13/20 for food and 3/10 for price (£4 for the dog balls and £10 for the pizza!!)
2) Forts of India in Whitefield for tea - popadoms to start with chutney (and coleslaw,
) 7/10 - nice 30 min wait for mains to allow starter to settle - chicken tikka bhuna with mushroom and pilau rice plus a garlic and plain naan between four of us 9/10 - overally 16/20 - bill of £70 for four diners including lots of ale seems like a bargain to me. Highly recommend you check this place out.
3) Treated to Frankie & Benny's (recurring theme) breakfast special on Sunday, two breakfasts for £10 (usually a tenner a pop, too
), had two eggs, two bacon, two long herby sausages, herby potatos, beans, mushroom and tomato with UNLIMITED free tea = 8/10
Going to need to run extra hard at 5 a side tomorrow to shift some of this.

Getting stuck into some more English wine.
This time, its Bolney Estate Autumn Spice 2010. Very nice drop. Quite zesty and zingy, can definitely tell its made from grapes - I'm sure the Vinho Verde likers amongst you would go a bomb for it.
Mind, all the prices are over 7 quid for Vin Rosbif, so it shouldn't really be a tuesday night sipper. Still, knock yerself out, eh?

Got the day off today and decided that I was "cooking" a proper gastronomic affair. Started a few hours ago prepping chicken liver parfait, which is now lodged in the fridge. Creme brulee early doors tomorrow, then onto the medallions of venison with straw potatoes and "something to do with carrots". After which Bolton V Wolves.
Looking forwards to it.

At the minute, the venison is looking more likely. It's sat there in its wrapping and it's scary. I've not done venison before...thebish wrote:Puskas wrote:There's always something to ruin your day, isn't there?Worthy4England wrote:Got the day off today and decided that I was "cooking" a proper gastronomic affair. Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
The price of the venison pales into insignificance, by weight, when put next to the price of fecking vanilla pods...

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
I had access to 12 litres of Safforn for a time. Tightly packed aswell. To put that in to a quantifiable amount, its 3 large (proper large) ice cream containers. Bear in mind this shit costs over 200 quid for 50 grams. Probably about 5 or 6 grands worth (and more).
I've still got some of my angels share.
