Massive 3 points that, fairly confident we will pick up at least 6 points in our last 13 games! Hopefully we can get back to playing some good football now aswell, all out attack vs the spuds!

i feel, given the season overall, and especially the last minute goal we conceded at anfield we deserved that goal and all the luck that surrounded it.

Sometimes, it can take a scrappy, undeserved win to kickstart a season again.
We were, in the main, dire; not that I can pick out any one player to blame for that, really, but nothing really seemed to click right.
Contrary to most, I actually thought SKD had his best game in a while. Back 4 were all fine, Mavies was disappointing, Holden ran the show, CYL was fantastic and showed us exactly what we were missing, Elmander was disappointing. Taylor was bad. Rodrigo promised much but delivered nothing, as did Sturridge...until he showed predatory instincts we haven't seen since Anelka, when he popped on a horrible backpass to stick it past a faultless Hennessey.
Lets hope we can push on from this, starting against Spurs. Let's nick a point, at least.

I'd like to think our Nat was up there watching and nudged the big fella and said "come on cocker, we need a bit of help here".
In all honesty is was pretty dire. Again. The first half I thought we were close to a few things coming off and the keeper made some decent saves, but second we were woeful.
Coyle needs to man up a bit, I think he's too soft with his strikers. Davo is unfortunately not at the races and suffering from the demands placed on him when the ball is passed to his feet and he has a team mate running and needs a ball neatly slotting to him.
At home we've been sussed out. Bring a 5 man midfield and you'll have the run of the park. Our middle two were nowhere to be seen today. I don't know how the sponsors picked a home MOM at that point because we were so far off it was silly.
Those uninterested 2 up top against Spuds, we'll lose 4-0.

But lets not gloss over (when we lose and play well its important to do the reverse) we were utter garbage.
Kevin Davies need taking out of that side pronto. Absolutely fecking appalling. Appalling.

Just a few observations fron the match.
1st half, generally, well on top, although the Jarvis miss was a bit of a mare for them. Dunno whether others spotted, but there doestn't appear to be anyone leading the defensive line to the offiside trap - happened a few times where there was a "debate between the back four as to whether we were going to push up or not. We had plenty of attacking intent and some decent moves and on another day - say in November - we might have had a couple of goals before half time.
The longer we went witout a goal, you could feel the nervousness building, both on the pitch and in the stands. Beginning of the second half looks like they might have had a bit of a bollocking, because they were out of the blocks quicker. As the half wore on we pressed back into it and again started to create some chances.
When the subs were made, I thought they were overdue, by about 10 minutes for me. As has been mentioned by those watching on the match thread, I'm not sure why or how Davo stayed on. His head doesn't seem to be in the right place at the minute, he needs resting.
Some moronic booing when CYL was subbed - which I suspect had nothing to do with him having a bad game, because he was excellent. Coyle probably figured he deserved a break. Taylor too worked hard, and when it's going for you, may well have bagged a goal along the way.
Moreno looked sharp when he came on and Sturridge looked ok, until he grabbed the money shot at the end.
In amidst all the doom and gloom, we were quite comfortably the better team for most of the match - albeit against the team at the bottom of the table - although defensive lapses could have cost us. Elmo and Davo aren't scoring much and to be honest, of the two, Davo is the one that needs resting most.
Great to grab to points, we deserved them. A better opposition team and it may well have been a different outcome as they probably wouldn't have missed the couple of clear-cut opportunities that Wolves did.

Well, that was a truly awful performance. Yes we won, so it's not doom and gloom, but overall we were terrible.
Apart from the result, the only other positive I can take from the game was that Sturridge looked very quick and lively and made some intelligent runs. Other than that, we were shocking.
The biggest issue for me was the way Jussi continued to lump 95% of his "passes" to SKD, who didn't win anything all night. Either he's been given instruction to do this continually, irrespective of the situation, or he hasn't the intelligence to try something different. Whilst for the most part SKD was beaten to the ball, when he had the opportunity to do something with it, his poor touch let him down. He doesn't seem to be putting in the effort he used to either. Time for a rest methinks.
Also, even though I'm one of Muamba's biggest critics, I think we missed him. Our midfield were completely shapeless. At least Muamba holds his position and breaks things up. There was none of that tonight.
Don't even get me started on Elmander.
Owen's dilemna is who to drop for Sturridge. A nice and very much overdue problem to be faced with.
Having said all that, a win is a win.
