An Elmander could be a fish couldnt it, always thought it had a fish-like quality about the word.

Shurely Johan El-zander or Johan Eelmander are the obvious ones?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Pertinent. But The Bolton News understands that the player’s representatives already had an agreement in place to revisit the situation after the transfer window closed, and will soon meet again with chairman Phil Gartside to see if a deal can be reached.
Elmander went into the January window as one of the top flight’s inform front men but has scored just once in his last 12 league games.
It is understood the striker, who has settled with his wife and two children in Cheshire, would consider a move abroad in the summer but would prefer to remain in England.

A somewhat movable feast? I didn't notice the word "Bolton" in there at all.

Liverpool might be daft enough to take him on. He's clearly way beyond Newcastle's aspirations!

I think its patently obvious that for all the service he's given us, Elmander is a far better option than Kevin Davies right now.bennettwak wrote:lets be serious hes rubbush. played well for 12 games in 3 seasons. let him go. west brom or wolves might sign him or he will end up in turkey.he shouldnt be in our team.sturridge davo upfront lee on right.if he could finsih he would have about 17 goals this season.
It might be that neither is good enough.
But Elmander offers much more, anyone who takes the blinkers off can see that.

We let him go - for nowt in the summer, where do you reckon the money comes from for us to buy Sturridge or someone else? (Assuming Sturridge would want to come here - I think he has loftier ambitions)bennettwak wrote:lets be serious hes rubbush. played well for 12 games in 3 seasons. let him go. west brom or wolves might sign him or he will end up in turkey.he shouldnt be in our team.sturridge davo upfront lee on right.if he could finsih he would have about 17 goals this season.
We might possibly get him on loan again - which I think is one line that Coyle is pursuing. Not convinced we have huge amounts to shell out on a new striker.
Re: Elmander - "No obligation" to Bolton
And if we didn't get Sturridge back on loan (as we didn't get Wilshere), then that'd leave us with a 34 year old skipper who doesn't score and a striker who does score, but is rarely fit and is still under investigation for rape. And Bob Blake.
Off the top of my head I can't think of any other bosmans we could get who are better than Elmander, so the least we can do is try to keep him, which we are going to.

Re: Elmander - "No obligation" to Bolton
The 'Elmo to Toon' rumour has popped up in the papers again, with talk of talks to take to Toon in the summer, on the basis of a pre-contract. It's all nonsense rumour though from what I can see, no sniff of substance to it.
Everything but the game: Because it's not just a game, it's a way of life.
