57 yellows and 2 red cards in 18 games this season. That's our match ref, Stuart Atwell.
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?
Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
3 yellows a game isn't the issue, it's that he's useless.

Wanderers: Bogdan, Robinson, Wheater, Cahill, Alonso, Chung-Yong, Holden, Muamba, Petrov, Klasnic, Kevin Davies (Subs: Jaaskelainen, Taylor, Rodrigo, Blake, Elmander, Cohen)
Fulham: Schwarzer, Salcido, Hangeland, Baird, Sidwell, Johnson, Gera, Murphy, Hughes, Dempsey, Dembele (Subs: Stockdale, Kelly, Pantsil, Kamara, Etuhu, Zamora, Greening)
fairly strong lineup then....
no mark davies...

Nice to see Coyle mixing up the front a bit. Wouldn't mind seeing SKD coming off on the hour if he and Klasnic aren't materializing....

Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
No defender on the bench either. So coyle doesn't fancy the kids full back much then.
Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
You can understand why Connolly would be annoyed. For all I know he might be shit (I've never seen him play) and Coyle is dead right, but there's no obvious reason outside of that why we continually would rather have nothing on the bench than him. If there is a reason, it doesn't seem like it's been communicated to him.
Anyway, COYWM.
Anyway, COYWM.

I'm fairly sure when the conversation was ongoing about us not having a full bench, Coyle said he wouldn't fill the bench with the "next best available" if the person wasn't ready for it.Tombwfc wrote:You can understand why Connolly would be annoyed. Which would probably lead you to the conclusion that Coyle doesn't think Connolly is good enough. Whether that's yet or ever, I've no notion.
Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
It's probably a case of the squad was travelling down so making alternative arrangements to bring the youth teamers over just for them to sit on the bench would've been an unwanted distraction, especially considering all of them are probably vying for the same spaces. For him to bring 1 or 2 of them would suggest that he rates them higher than the rest of the youngsters.
I also think its a case of Owen Coyle giving them a position in the squad and saying that they've earned it. So in essence he's making it a good achievement for the players as opposed to being a token gesture.
I'm sure Sam Ashton would definitely say that he would prefer to have the token gesture as would many others.
I'm sure Owen Coyle knows what he's doing so we can only leave it in his capable hands.
Trouble is should we get injuries, who would come on? Cohen at CB or Muamba/Holden? Similarly injuries at LB/RB would Taylor move to LB again? One can only wonder.

Ah the joys of 5Live, stuck with having to listen to Mark "Never had a positive thing to say about anyone in my life" Bright.
