Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
Isn't it generally down to the TV companies to see which games they want?

Can't say defence looks rock-solid, but it looks a lot better with Wheater in there.
... of course I may just be talking bo11ocks
Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
obviously I wasn't gonna say this before the game - but...
Fulham have NEVER beaten us in the FA cup - we have a 100% win rate against them.

Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
Wonder how serious Birmingham will be able to take the game. Stuck in the middle of a relegation struggle, and have a Carlling Cup final. We could have drawn a lot worse than Birmingham away.

Perhaps you could ask what role he played in the foundations of Holden, Alonso, Bogdan, Petrov, Davies and Wheater.bobo the clown wrote:3 clean sheets in 8 days, all against Premiership opponents .... OK, 2 Premiership, plus Wiggin.Verbal wrote:Klasnic's goal

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Alex McLeish is concerned Birmingham's push for cup glory on two fronts may take its toll on his ultimate goal - Barclays Premier League survival.
Blues will contest the Carling Cup final next weekend and are also through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after disposing of Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 at St. Andrew's yesterday.
McLeish was able to give some of his key players a rare break against the Owls.
The Blues boss said: 'It is great to be involved in the cup competitions at this stage.
'But I hope it doesn't take its toll in terms of our premier goal, which is Premier League status.
'My big craving is the Premier League.
'We definitely don't want the cup runs to take the steam out of the players.'
McLeish added: 'I know they have got enormous character but, when I look back at the last league game against Newcastle, we looked flat and short of inspiration.
'That is always the danger, that the longer the season goes, some minds become tired as well as the bodies. I think mental tiredness is the biggest concern.
'That's why being able to recharge the batteries of a few of them this weekend was a Godsend.

Can't help feeling Mavies being injured made selection easy - Muamba back in with Holden - and from R5LSX it sounded as if they completely dominated.
Horses for courses - but the more difficult the game, the more I want Muamba / Holden in there together.

What goes around may still come around
Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
Muamba was fantastic going forward, Holden was fantastic defensively.

Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
An interesting dilemma for him. They must see as home tie against us as a winnable game (we'd do the same) and a very good chance of a trip to Wembly, so you'd think the home crowd wouldn't be very forgiving playing a reserve side....
But, with them already having their jolly in the Carling Cup final, maybe he would play a weakened side? We have to guard against complacancy here, its still an away tie too a Premier League team.

Definitely. Holden covered every blade of grass again.Tombwfc wrote:Muamba was fantastic going forward, Holden was fantastic defensively.
Mind, some of us have always said that Muamba's strength lay in playing box-to-box.

Please don't tell me you were hankering after a trip to Salford Reds ground?officer_dibble wrote:I think (and hope) Nat was looking down on us there particularly in the last ten minutes.
Fantastic performance away at Fulhmam, to go with victories against other teams we don't usually beat this week! Scratch defence and a clean sheet...Bogdan with two clean sheets is massive plus for him. Muamba, Wheater and Cahill too men, Robo at right back as well. 90 mins from Petrov!
Tough tie at Birmingham, only lost once there since we won there last year? Could of been much worse.
It's a shitter the semis are at Wembley, will cost a fortune compared to a large and probably northern neutral venue.
Pfffft.

Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
Anyone thinking a tie at a team with a home record as good as Birminghams is easy is being a bit naive. We'll need some luck, a top performance and maybe even some divine intervention to win that one!
TKIZ - no not the filth. Council house maybe though! Wembley tickets will prob start at £50? Plus transport etc...without counting chickens (see above)!

Well, this season just gets better.
Last 8 in FA cup.
Top 8 in the Prem.
Does that make us one of the Big 8?

I'd rather support Bolton than be you.
Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
Don't think that is what we are saying but getting Birmingham away with their relegation problems is better than Man U, Man City, or Arsenal. In fact prefer it to Stoke away. All of us would have loved West Ham but getting Birmingham is not the worst draw in the world by a long shot.officer_dibble wrote:Anyone thinking a tie at a team with a home record as good as Birminghams is easy is being a bit naive. Re: Fulham on Sunday - FA Cup
Oh right I see, yeah it would have been nice at the Council Tax stadium, but who are we kidding we have to get passed Brum first, then we have to negotiate how many tickets all the other sponsers, marketing etc get before we entertain the paltry amount we'd get even for a semi!officer_dibble wrote:Anyone thinking a tie at a team with a home record as good as Birminghams is easy is being a bit naive.
