No sweat, wasn't taken as one. On the last bit I totally agree.CAPSLOCK wrote:Sorry

It's just inaccurate to say we were loyal
I'm pretty sure the previous manager would have dumped him at the end of his first season if it had been possible

Re: Elmander and the contract shiz
I'd still just about like him to stay, but sadly I think he'll go.

Bollocks, Elmo played well today, one of our better players.Bruce Rioja wrote:I see that he had the touch of a rapist once again today!
Gave Enrique a tough time and provided the assist for the goal.

The assist making it 10 goals, 5 assists for the season.

You must be his agent. The very fact that wiser observers look at his contribution over his entire time at this level lead you to why not one single club showed interest in him during the January window. Liverpool, my arseTombwfc wrote:The assist making it 10 goals, 5 assists for the season.

And some people are blinded by the admittedly poor level of his performance over the past two years; so much so that they are now prejudiced against him, regardless of how well or otherwise he plays right here, right now.Bruce Rioja wrote:You must be his agent. Elmander played well today, in a role that is, still, relatively unfamiliar to him. He and Sturridge stood out in a team that was, when all's said and done, below par.

Oh my giddy aunt. Were you away for the Everton game? Today we played like Brazil in comparison!truewhite15 wrote: in a team that was, when all's said and done, below par.

Re: Elmander and the contract shiz
Realistically you have to assume that we won't be able to afford his wage demands. At his age now he's probably looking for at least 4 years on as much money as he can get, and that would be his last big contract.
More importantly for us, where does that leave us next year?
SKD - getting on a bit.
Blake - out of contract/getting on a bit.
Klasnic - one year left/can't last 90 mins/getting on a bit.
Younger strikers - can't even get on the bench in the PL at the moment.

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

It's meeting your side of a contract, y'know, a legal requirement
Toss all to do with loyalty
Then we should sue him for not fulfilling his with his poxy return over the three years of his contract unless he kocks another 20 in by the season end!

Re: Elmander and the contract shiz
Megson probably would have been able to sell Elmander at the end of his first full season if it hadn't meant his job.
You don't shell out record fees at clubs the size of ours and get away with "oops, sorry, he's probably worth a tenth of that, on refelction".

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

And Len Cantello
Maybe we all get a bit giddy when we pay big money (for us)

Personally, I think we have to make sure he stays. He works bloody hard for the team and apart from a bad run of form in the last two months, he was a fans' favourite.

Sorry mate, but when he was scoring goals for fun in October / November, everyone thought fondly of him! It's ok, you don't have to remove your negative mask, I know you felt it tooLofthouse Lower wrote:Fans favourite....who....Mandy?Unless you meant "fan's" favourite - and that fan was Elmander

Everyone enjoyed his good six weeks, but I doubt many ever forgot his piss-poor 20 months before that
