Re: Where are they now...... Bambi Vaz Te
Vaz Te has bags of talent, just was scuppered by injury every single season. Shame, because I thought he had a chance

Re: Where are they now...... Bambi Vaz Te
Miles better than the Scottish league! Celtic and Rangers are about a par with the top few Greek teams and then the rest is utter garbage. There's a few solid teams in Greece. UEFA coefficients have the Greek League as the eleventh best in Europe, with the Scottish 15th, and that is with the artificial bump of Rangers UEFA cup final run. If that is taken out, their average puts them somewhere between the Austrian and Cypriot League.BWFC_Insane wrote:Prufrock wrote:This is his year!
In fairness if he can't cut it in pub football then he's fooked.
Whats the Greek League then?

Well it's wank. And folk get lured in by the BBC playing the eighty three old firm games per season and pretending it's better than Pub League. Genuinley I'd back Swansea and Cardiff to beat Celtic and Rangers atm. After that Scottish football is a league two job. Utter shite.

Re: Where are they now...... Bambi Vaz Te
I think a lot of us (like me) were secretly willing him to come good, and show the promise that we heard he had, if not saw he had. But apart from the Guimares goal and a game (against West Ham I think it was) where he and Borgetti (another disappointment) scored in a 4-1 (I think) home win, our hopes were frequently dashed.
Phil Brown, who spent a lot of time with him here, must have thought a lot about him as he took him on loan at Hull when he was manager there. But I believe he very rarely made it past the subs bench there, so maybe even he realised then that Vaz Te wasn't going to fulfill the early promise that some thought he would.

Didn't he score 3 in 4 at the back end of 1 season?
He definitely had ability but failed to apply himself
Btw, Guimaraes, a couple of yards further out and his sliced shot misses

the media up here dresses up the old firm like nobodies business, i've sat through 4 old firms this year only to be greeted by the news that there's another three on the way!Prufrock wrote:Well it's wank. Well, he's now signed for Hib's, as discussed, but didn't even warm the bench last night. I assume he's unfit at the moment.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Funny, as their boss not the day he signed said that he was ready to be thrown straight into action.
Good luck to him

I remember the few he got at end of the season a few years ago, we played Boro in midweek right at the end of the season it must have been re-arranged from another date and he scored a diving header, and scored again in last game of the season. It sent me into summer thinking we'd start the next campaign with Vaz Te being a really dangerous option for us.CAPSLOCK wrote:Didn't he score 3 in 4 at the back end of 1 season?

Bit tight about the Guimaraes goal though, a few yards further out and a lot of great goals we all remember don't go in! Jubilant scenes in BL1 bar when that one went in!

In Portugal? Didn't you get charged by the mounted b*stards in Madrid too?CAPSLOCK wrote:It was, until I realised I'd been pepper sprayedGary the Enfield wrote:P.O.S. wrote:I remember the few he got at end of the season a few years ago, we played Boro in midweek right at the end of the season it must have been re-arranged from another date and he scored a diving header, and scored again in last game of the season. Haha...no, not me
tbh in Madrid, didn't even see the trouble in the ground from our spot
Nearest thing to violence was some cock insisting folk sit down in front of him - was unbelievable as he must have been mid 30's, not WTW's age
In Portugal, it was lower tier left hand side when we scored...and the cops got carried away on a few youngsters with claret spilled

Classy youngsters who follow the Wanderes abroad drinking good Bordeaux, like.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
