home alone tonight, so my line up consists of Something Old (Once upon a time in the west), Something New (Blue Valentine), Something Borrowed (Crouching tiger hidden dragon - from lovefilm), Something Blue (Lobstertube!)... with a 2 minute break near the end of MOTD.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
As presented by Dr Brian 'I was in D:Ream, me' Cox.
Now, this programme was so dull I had to switch it off. Cox has a gift for making very interesting scientific concepts seem incredibly boring. There was no answer to the question - what are we watching? Were the scenes of planets and stars exploding real scientific footage of real events, or artists renderings in CGI?
I was also a bit turned off by the homo-erotic subtext, that of Cox looking pretty and innocent, pouting and trying to look sexy while pretending he didn't know all this was going on. The whole thing made me rather bilious.
I prefer the idea that magnificent things are happening behind my back. If I want to know about physics, I'll visit wikipedia or read a text book.

Finally, through a sense of duty, managed to finish Dorian Gray. Shit film, that doesn't 'get' a cracking book, which is then made worse by appalling set pieces and weird shit thrown in to satisfy a Hollywood audience. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Had the 'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' last night......and the sequel who's name I forget. I've still got my legs crossed, but well worth a watch if not in the same league as the books.

Sleeping tigers, crouching dragons, heroes and flying ninjas all thrown together in The Forbidden Kingdom. Bought it today so that's tonight's fare. Not a clue what it's like.
