United's midfield is woeful this season. Apart from Fletcher, Scholes and Giggs it may as well be a vacuum.
Saw Darron Gibson in The Times today hoping he gets a contract extension. Unlikely son

For whatever it's worth, I'd be over the moon if we signed Joey Barton. A midfield of him and Holden would be as good as anything outside the top three.

now that WOULD cause an earthquake...Tombwfc wrote:For whatever it's worth, I'd be over the moon if we signed Joey Barton.

Bebe? Really?
Michael Owen?
I'm glad OC is our manager and not some of you lot!

I'd be delighted to sign someone of Barton's footballing capability to sit in there with Holden.thebish wrote:now that WOULD cause an earthquake...Tombwfc wrote:For whatever it's worth, I'd be over the moon if we signed Joey Barton.
I wouldn't want us to sign Barton.

I expressed no preference over those United youngsters. Bebe, for instance, is so underwhelming that Verbal appears to think he's a midfielder. Some of them I'd have, others I wouldn't, but it would be based on their abilities, not their club ties. Willie Morgan, etc.
Dalglish could have been watching Young, Albrighton, Downing, Holden, LCY, Cahill or Sturridge. Or maybe we were just the nearest half-interesting game on a free Saturday.

Winger, isn't he? Well, an attempted winger.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I expressed no preference over those United youngsters. Barely. Most interesting thing about him is that they could have had him for nowt six months previous.Verbal wrote:Winger, isn't he? I agree with Cleverly...he looks real quality. We Also need a winger(to be CYL's backup), a center back(when Cahill leaves-of course), a left back(paul robinson is horrible) and two strikers when Elmander and Sturridge leave.

He does frustrate in an Elmander-great-sometimes-completely-missing-at-others kind of way. Though he's been far better this year than last. And seeing as I reckon JLO is probably buried under Coyle's patio or something, I'm not sure who else we play?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I think the great thing about Robbo is he never actually does go missing. Of course there are times his lack of pace lets him down and times he gets caught up the pitch when we're pressing.Lord Kangana wrote:He does frustrate in an Elmander-great-sometimes-completely-missing-at-others kind of way. BUT he always, always gives 100%, always puts his body on the line and ok being realistic he's not the best left back in the world but for me he's everything I want in a defender at BWFC!

You boys need to avoid alcohol. He's not a patch on Gardner at his peak. Nor is he the "General" around which we all follow. He's ok. No more, no less.truewhite15 wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:I think the great thing about Robbo is he never actually does go missing. He might not be the best, or the most cultured, but he's perfect for us. If he was any better, then somebody else would be having him.
