I'm absolutely freaking out about this game, I want to believe but I'm worried the old Wanderers will turn up
Pfffft.

I'm so excited but trying to keep my expectations low because I know I'll be absolutely gutted if we lose.TKIZ! wrote:I'm absolutely freaking out about this game, I want to believe but I'm worried the old Wanderers will turn up
Well, I guess that's to be expected anyway.

Is your ticket printed on gold leaf?! £19 for me, with rail card, but only 24 without!
Excited. We get to Brum just before 11, will pubs be open by then? A Wetherspoons at least must be? Can. Not. Wait.

And a few on the train down there for good measure! Can't wait for this one, been a while since I was so excited about a game for us. Come on whites do us proud!General Mannerheim wrote:Brighton Arms or the Cricketers by the ground, although they are lost amongst the side streets.bwfc1979 wrote:does anyone know any boozers we are allowed in or is it just a case of streight to the ground
Reckon most folk (well those travelling by train anyway) will have a few in the town centre before the game. thats what were doing, then jump in a taxi to the ground.
Re: FACup Quarter Final
Sounds like Birmingham could be without 11 of their senior players...

Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,
Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Re: FACup Quarter Final
All the excitement has got me thinking about the past.
Where were we in the 1958 League table at the time of the Quarter Finals. Did the fans at the time know they were in the midst of a great season? Did they have gripes about the team? Did Hopkinson get criticised for missing a shot but saving a penalty? Was Hartle good enough at RB? Were we in danger of relegation? (finished 15th). I look back and think "it must have been great then" but I'll bet there were some anxious times too.
It's a great time to be a Wanderer and I will enjoy every minute while it lasts.
COYWM.

As ever, "doubtfuls" and "could be withouts" I'll believe when they actually happen.scotty wrote:Sounds like Birmingham could be without 11 of their senior players...
