Re: 'It would have to be a special club'
I think it is a something story actually.
On the positive side, it is interesting to hear that PG feels OC has some loyalty to the club, and only sees him going to a "special club", which makes you think it would rule out the likes of Villa, Everton, Sunderland etc, as well as Celtic and Rangers, and leave only Liverpool (possibly), Tottenham (possibly), Man U, Man C, Arsenal and Chelsea. None of those will be available in the summer I think, and even if City sack Mancini, or something unexpected happens at one of others, Coyle's standing is probably not high enough just yet.
On the negative side, PG wouldn't be the first chairman to be lured into thinking that OC loved the club and wouldn't be leaving anytime soon.
As far as I understand it, he only has one year on his contract left, so we need to tie to him a 5 year minimum contract this summer. Get it sorted PG.

No truly big ones in England coming after Owen yet... several glancing this way, I suspect... He needs another season or more of achievement, perhaps some waves in Europe - then we'll have a struggle on our hands...bristol_Wanderer3 wrote:I think it is a something story actually.

Don't think it will be a sideways move, though...

"Bigging up" is all part of the wonderful world of business-ruled football. OC 's done it with Elmander and Chungy going on to big clubs, PG's doing it with OC. Just making sure nobody thinks anybody is going anywhere for peanuts. All part of the game. Nowt to get in a sweat about.

elsewhere on this site is the story of Juve and la Viola "battling" over Elmander for the summer

Going of Juve's current problems with strikers, this freebie could be a blessing, amazingly enough.

How much of a "blessing" will it be for us?$huttgun wrote:elsewhere on this site is the story of Juve and la Viola "battling" over Elmander for the summer
