Wanderers v Man U
Lest we forget with all this cup malarky, we have a game at OT coming up.
The Saviour will be up for this after missing out on Saturday and will no doubt be keen to impress.
Can we really pull out another 3-2 thriller?

Re: Wanderers v Man U
While it would be amazing to pull out 3 points from Old Trafford, it seems a bit unlikely. I like us to get a point and get a 1-1 or 2-2 draw. With Man U's back line in flux and their inability to play consistantly over the last 7 games, I think we can get something from it. COYW!

Extra incentive for Sturridge as a point at OT could help his parent club. Works for me. We've got people competing for Wembley places too, not given them.

A Liverpool side that's hardly been breaking too many pots showed it can be done. Twill be a high-energy game and we'll have to score unquestionable goals for them not to be disallowed at the theatre of reams.( deliberate) Almost certain United will have a penalty awarded somewhere and expect anything up to eleven minutes of extra time if United aren't winning. A point here will be very welcome and I get the feeling a few neutrals will be watching this one. Watch the master of mayhem declare doubtfuls any time now. Half the side are probably on a pilgrimage to Lourdes right now.

Also watch for requests for Clattenburg to ref.

11 minutes? You're being generious there. I'd fully expect the refs to let the game to go on until Man U won.TANGODANCER wrote:A Liverpool side that's hardly been breaking too many pots showed it can be done. No they didn't - in the league at Old Shitford - no one has done it - the FRS have won 13 and drawn 1... lost? - nil...TANGODANCER wrote:A Liverpool side that's hardly been breaking too many pots showed it can be done. So... Obviously time for a change... 2-1 to the good guys... COYW!!!
Re: Wanderers v Man U
Unfortunately for me I work with too many ManUre fans to count so I'm hoping that a draw will shut them up for a little while at least
Pfffft.
Re: Wanderers v Man U
Missed out on tickets for this one So will have to settle for the pub!
I could be talking cr@p here...but i'm sure i've read somewhere that clubs are supposed to give away fans a certain percentage of seats? I know the FA cup works like that (although with a higher percentage) ...but thought it the same sort of rule in the PL?
Either way... if ever there was a season where i had confidence we could get points there....this is it!!

Can't see us getting anything from this. It will need a big effort from OC and the coaches to get the players at their maximum and even at their maximum they lose this game 90% of the time. Add into the equation that Man U are in a big title race and for them it is a must win game, then it looks as unlikely as it gets. Still this season nothing can be ruled out.

We need OM to take them to extra time and stuff to give us a bit of a chance.

I'm not overly optimistic despite united having a midweek game. They have more than enough players to replace ones that might be fatigued, they are playing at home where they are at their best and we are playing away where we are at our worst(in the PL).

Hate to say it but out of everyone in the league I always find Man Utd, and sometimes Chelsea just appear without weakness - certainly against us. They've got decent full backs - although maybe our left flank provides an opportunity; strong, uncompromising centre halves; a midfield adept at keeping the ball and some of the best strikers in the world who can put things away from nothing.

Shall we just close this thread and pretend it never happened?

Re: Wanderers v Man U
Never been a better time to play them. With our never say die attitude we may get something here.

hmmm.... seems to be moaning that the personal connection has lost them the loan players..
but then - i doubt they were moaning when the same personal connection GOT them the players in the first place...
