Worried about Europe?

Post by Il Pirate » Tue Mar 15, 2011 9:33 am

:conf: Amongst all the euphoria of getting to the semi and the great position we are find ourselves in the prem; I have a little nagging worry at the back of my mind that if we get into europe, would it be too much too soon? Considering the current size of the squad, ( I know we could add with the attraction of european competition); does anyone else feel that a long drawn out europa campaign would stretch our resources to the limit, and have a detremental effect on our league form next season?

We're not there yet.

Worry when we are. Please.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Fair point well made guys. Unfortunatly it's a trait of mine. Always look for what can go wrong and try to fix it before it does..........Even when it doesn't need fixing

I (together with a lot of others I expect) started the season longing to be a top ten club again. I'll happily settle for that. F.A Cup semi-final and seventh place right now are pure bonus; anything more will be a dream.

This !!

Fckg French .... never buy any of our cheeses, & the Euro, a pox on the infernal thing. That CAP has needed reforming for decades & who do the Court of Human Rights think they are anyway ? ... The thry STILL haven't passed the Audit after years & years of uncontrolled spending. Look at Ireland, Greece, Portugal .... not to mention Belgium's debt crisis.

So yes, I AM worried about Europe !! Ha ... tossers, the lot of them.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Worried about Europe? Is this a joke? Those trips we're amazing. Roll on Europe!

I may have started the season that way, TD, but i have since set my sights higher. Have you lost those glasses? I want to beat Stoke and finish top 7 - I'll happily settle for that (but may aim higher yet again if we beat Stoke)

Nope, still got em Monty, just that I've had sensible diffusers fitted, just in case. Top ten will still make me very happy. Not that anything above that won't make me delerious of course.

Just been reading this thread and naturally went on youtube to reminisce our European adventures and it got me thinking; how many fans did we take to Munich? And which game did we take the biggest away following to?

I went to Madrid, Munich and Marseille – all a bit of a blur now.

Prob much of a muchness those 3, along with Plovdiv and Guimaraes - if pushed, I'd say Marseille was the biggest following

Least was at Belgrade, which was probably half of Skopje
