Re: Wanderers v Man U
Even if they are without some key players, there still a massive threat and likely to beat us handsomely if they play well.
What I'd do for a 'second string' like this.
Van Der Sar
Fabio
Smalling
Brown/Evans
Evra
Valencia
Carrick
Hargreaves/Gibson
Nani/Giggs
Rooney
Berbatov/Hernandez

Changed yer tune now, eh?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I expect so too. Let's hope we finish with eleven - last thing we need is suspensions.$huttgun wrote:i fully expect robbo to do some damage, and hopefullly Sparky gets the nod on Muamba. Utd's none scholes/giggs midfield is proper ropey, so let's take advantage.
We played very well at home against them with Owen getting an equaliser to salvage a point. We could have been 3-1 up had Elmander not missed that one on one. Hopefully we can avoid conceding an early goal and score first.
Incidentally, the centre backs for that home game were Knight and Ricketts. And Knight scored!

Re: Wanderers v Man U
not really sure what real difference a touchline ban makes - they have earpieces don't they - and plenty of stooges to relay instructions to the team. Big Sam always used to say you got a better view of the shape of a game - and thus how to set up your team - fom the stands anyway - didn't he?hi there, i'm chris wrote:Ferguson ban starts on saturday.

Radio this morn was saying he has til Monday to appeal, so that means ban would start on Tuesday thereafterhi there, i'm chris wrote:Ferguson ban starts on saturday.

Re: Wanderers v Man U
WANDERERS could head into the derby with Manchester United without a specialist right back after Gretar Steinsson was struck down by illness.
The Iceland international has failed to train this week after picking up a sickness bug and will be monitored over the next 24 hours to see if he stands any chance of playing at Old Trafford.
As Sam Ricketts is out for the season, it could mean that Paul Robinson is again asked to play on the opposite side of the defence, with either Marcos Alonso, or the fit-again Jlloyd Samuel drafted in on the left

he is banned - he isn't a appealing - so it starts now - isn't that what would normally happen?

Yep, but what I think Prufrock is getting at is that he can chose what date it starts based on appealing or not, and in this case it looks like he's not appealing so he can be touchline for the Arsenal game.thebish wrote:not sure I get this...Prufrock wrote:So he can pick and choose when he is 'banned' now can he? Don't see much wrong with it to be fair, everyone else would have the same opportunity.

indeed - hardly seems like the kind of underhand influence implied! - look, we don't need to invent reasons to detest fergie - he is by default, detestable!hi there, i'm chris wrote:Yep, but what I think Prufrock is getting at is that he can chose what date it starts based on appealing or not, and in this case it looks like he's not appealing so he can be touchline for the Arsenal game.thebish wrote:not sure I get this...Prufrock wrote:So he can pick and choose when he is 'banned' now can he? We might well get dicked, but some of us will be having the treatment administered to us on the comfy seats behind Sir Alex.
