What are you watching tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

This was superb. Really in-depth look at musical evolvement as told by those who know what they're talking about;the musicians themselves. Entertainment, politics, the messages and bloodbaths all woven together by music of the Emerald Isle. Loved it.

I had Bolton 2 - 2 Blackpool on the foxtel box (stored waiting for new VCR) when it got wiped, we only got a $5 voucher for it.

Had a look and found a MOTD of it, and I downloaded it straight from the search engines result page!!!!!!!!!!

Still; I would want the match on tape or dvd.

Bruce Rioja wrote:The Trinitron's just held out long enough for me to watch To Kill a Mocking Bird. They've cut much of the book's background detail out and jigged sections of it around, but that doesn't alter the fact that it is truly superb. It must be - I almost welled-up. Twice.
Whilst we agree on little else I'm genuinly glad you liked this. A great film ( which twitches bits of the story granted) fully respecting a classic book. Peck was brilliant as Atticus.

Trinitron is a Sony CRT isn't it?

If you're not getting HD the picture on an LCD/Plasma will be a disappointment

Watching Barcelona (what a goal from Alves  ) on Sky Sports HD, but it's being broadcast in non-HD. Annoying.

they all have HD upscaling of some sort in for viewing SD pictures, they also all have some fancy progressive scanning deinterlacing in too. newer ones have better picture processing in than a flat panel tv from a few year ago .

the 3D ones look particularly good, must be that 200hz stuff.

a hd source is still miles better as you say, its 'cleaner' and clearer ..

as are led backlights.

Finally got to see 'Neds' last night (Scottish, subtitled*)

Kind of a cross between This is England, Nil by Mouth & Rab C Nesbitt, but without the laughs and added oppression! Quite long for such a grim film, actually felt depressed watching it!

Good tho, brilliant infact.

*not really subtitled, but it wouldn't hurt to be!

Yesterday I watched Sin Mombre - Mexican, i think. spanish lang, subtitled.

A gang member kills the gang leader and has to try to reach the US border and cross before the rest of the gang catch up with him, taking a new-found romance with him.

Dark, disturbing, violent. And good.

Saw one of them. Might have been the first. Thought it was good, witty and intelligent.

Just like yourself, obviously... :D

Just watched first two episodes of The Corner - basically the precursor of The Wire. some of the same actors, directors, writers, also Baltimore, also the crazed drugs world of addiction and violence. Very good, impressive work.

Probably sorted out much of the rest of the viewing week, with the exception of a trip or two for the VIVA! festival and spanish language films with subtitles... :D :D :D

The Corner is a fantastic piece of work.

Just don't expect a happy ending.

Great film :oyea:

On the subject of Spanish language films, I saw Sugar at the weekend. Would highly recommend it.
