Sounds like half rations to me.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

a) They're both approximations.
b) Are you a Yank? If not, in what world are you writing 14th March as 3.14 - you'd write it as 14.3 (or 14/3). Wait for the 14th month. They'll introduce one soon enough.

I think you're just being irrational.

The lack of spittoons in public. Whose idea was it to get rid of these things?

I seem to have contracted tuberculosis (or something similar) - where is a young gentleman to expectorate his blood-mottled phlegm?

Pah. No thought, some people.

people who attempt maths and get it badly wrong..

an unidentifiable football pundit on R5 tonight - as I drove home from Chadwell Heath... trying to describe a very very very small chance said...

"even if it was only nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought nought point five percent likely - it would be worth it..."

as if all the noughts made it smaller somehow...

Ponsonby-Smythe was the clever boy in Tango's class that became my teacher of Eng Lit.

I rarely allowed him to speak.

The Rotten little dog in my house was seen before by me going to eat "special food" out of the cat litter box.

Yesterday he went to eat a rats liver. (the cats had gotten one or two and thats what was left)

I'm not angry about it It's just on the subject

just seen this about a retired company director who pulled out in front of a biker, the biker was thrown into a field & the car driver did not go over to check if he was dead or alive, instead borrowing a phone of somebody to let his wife know he would be late home, the biker was killed outright & the driver who was driving after a drinking lunch said i don,t care if he,s dead i don,t know him.
All he got was a 3yr sentence.

Massive cuts to the arts. Some practices do, I agree, come out quite well. Others, good arts education and community companies, through no fault of their own, will go to the wall. Grass roots arts companies educate, bring through new talent, and more importantly, the arts generate money. Too many companies, especialy those involved in schools education and community arts will fold. One company who kindly gave me my first commision, forecast that they cannot continue beyond the end of 2012; despite being a touring company involved in schools education for over 20 years. That makes me angry.

There's an indication in today's BN that the Octagon is not going to suffer from cuts. Hope it's right.

Back that up, very well said... The schools work being cut is especially stupid and counter productive and reactionary... Also the touring work...

But, to be fair to the Arts Council this a a Tory/Lib Dem cut and the Arts Council took a considered decision on how to deal with it... Some huge companies - National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Co etc have taken cuts of some order... in our region the major fund gobbler, the Royal Exchange has taken standstill...

The Octagon has received a 7% increase (over four years so a real terms cut, but definitely not life-threatening)... I am so relieved about this, and i think so many people in the town also will be, even those who rarely go...

There is no economic justification for this cut - investment in the arts has a massive multiplier effect - it's just populist shite... The minister for Arts Media and Sport is Jeremy Hunt... another misplaced consonant...

Though I enjoyed the placard on the TUC march on Sat: The Tories - Putting the 'N' in Cuts'...
