Relegation Battle....

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

How many points to be safe? I reckon 43'll be reet!
It'd need a computer programme .... or someone with an infeasible amount of time, but I suspect that, as so many teams down there have to play each other & so they can't all get points and we probably are, in fact, safe.

If I'm wrong ... we're domed.
:hang:
Errr  I plugged in a set of results to BBC predictor last week, that would have seen us go down in 20th, 4 points adrift from 19th...

Domed.

Thanks Worthy.(??)

Domed, utterly.

Given that on the last day 2 years ago it needed a 7 goal defeat to Chelsea PLUS Reading to win ... & I was worried, then now I'm scared.

Well the relegation battle for this week has come to a close with not many answers other than nearly all teams are determined to put up a fight. Stoke not impressed with this annual competition got a big win over Newcastle and thus game themselves a little breathing space. Aston Villa though who over the past couple seasons got used to fighting for cup competition spots decided to enter this competition by losing to Wolves at home. Wolves on the other hand are 4th in the league on form over the last 6 games yet still in relegation. They are certainly looking a favourite to surviving this season though. West Ham are also playing quite well, but since they have Man U next week and Bolton the week after, they must be a little concerned. Blackpool showing fight but they need to win another game soon. Blackburn, well they have Arsenal next up and could find them sitting in the relegation position next week. A position not even concidered only a few months back when Big Sam was in charge. Wigan have Spuds and Chelsea up next so they can't be over optimistic but a big win they did get yesterday. Birmingham must be crapping themselves right now with their poor form, and all of the injuries. West Brom are playing much better under Roy and fighting hard, but a tough schedule with Liverpool, Sunderland and Chelsea all coming up must be a little depressing.

The only real losers this week were Birmingham, Blackburn and Aston Villa.

Already looking forward to next week's encounters assuming I survive my 220km bicyle trip to an island. They will be viewed on a sandy beach, with a cold bottle of Beer Laos in one hand and a joint in the other.

There are no games next week. It's Internationals.

Well I won't be watching internationals when on Holiday. Mind you that makes it all easier. I'm o.k. doing 2 things at one time but really stretching it when trying to do three things.

I'm back and safe and sound. Was a bit worried about the last 100 km stretch to Bangkok, but the gods were on my side. For the second time in 3 weeks we have been hit with what was previously an unheard of cold snap in what should be the hot season. Temperatures are roughly 20 deg C cooler than normal. Instead of jumping in a pool to cool down at the end of the trip I instead had a hot shower and wrapped myself up in a duvet.

For the record I did take a boat for the last leg of the trip to Samet. Thought the water a bit rough for the ski's I had brought along to attach to my bicycle. Altogether it was around a 440 km bicycle trip with 3 days spent on a beach where the bicycle was left to recover.

Of course. A much better seasoning than rosemary. Actually on this island I don't really eat the seafood that much as I never trust the freshness. Much better on the mainland. My last night was spent on a coastal town and I loaded up on seafood at ridiculously cheap prices.

62 you sure? 22 points from the last 8 games?

7 wins and a draw? Bloody hell!

:conf:
How can Fulham stay up with 31 points when you have WBA & 'burn going down with 37 & 33?

Oops they had 37 with WBA I think it was, was not really looking

And why can't we win all those games and draw the others, can never find it within myself to put us down for a loss :)

More upset that though how hard I tried i did not manage to get Villa relegated :)
