Re: Relegation Battle....
Tough at the present time to argue against those calls. WBA are playing quite well right now but have a tough set of fixtures. If wishful thinking though, West Ham would be on on that list, at least for me.officer_dibble wrote:I had Blackburn WBA Wigan as well...wishful thinking?

Remotely realistic wishful thinking would involve Newcastle, Villa and West Ham for me.

I don't want any of the Lancashire clubs relegated. I'd like us to be joined by Preston n Burnley an all.
I like the idea of Lancashire domination of the Prem...
Seems like the natural order of things to me...

Re: Relegation Battle....
I would tend to agree. If I lived there it would be more cheap close by away ties. The southern press and the rich southern teams would cry their eyes out. Anyway I was born in Lancashire so I'm a homer. I'd like West ham to go down (just for the fun of reading KUMB as the awful day approaches), Wolves (whom I've disliked since Billy Wright's days) and Villa (because they are too big and rich for relegation).William the White wrote:I don't want any of the Lancashire clubs relegated. Re: Relegation Battle....
why the feck does everyone want west ham down? 6 points!
Blackburn, Wigan and one other for me...would be lovely to see Everton drop but that won't happen now....I'd say Villa for Ashley Young but the nice people leaving anyway.....but we all know who we really want. Yes, Wolves I'm looking at you (and thats 6 points as well!).

Re: Relegation Battle....
Big win for Aston Villa tonight but they still don't look very good. Wolves have lost their form big time, along with West Ham, but in their defense they did have to play Man U and Bolton so doubt they ever expected any points in those games anyhow.
West Brom are now looking pretty safe. Amazing job by Woy. Should be in the running for manager of the year if only to piss off Liverpool fans. Wigan are looking beat, and Blackpool need to get it going quick. Blackburn still in trouble and as a shock, Sunderland seem to want to join the pack.
Big games next week:
Birmingham v Sunderland
Blackpool v Wigan
Everton v Blackburn
West Ham v Aston Villa

WBA...Woy does it again! and even earlier this time!
Looking ominous for Blackpool now, though they have a lot of home games left I think?
Changes every week really. Just glad Blackburn didn't win.

13 Fulham 33 1 39
14 Stoke 33 -3 39
15 Birmingham 34 -17 38
16 Blackburn 34 -15 35
17 Blackpool 34 -22 34
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
18 Wigan 34 -23 34
19 Wolves 33 -20 33
20 West Ham 34 -22 32
Table as it stands. Have to say I'd be surprised if it now went as far as Brum. So I'd say its three from West Ham, Wigan, Wolves, Blackpool and Blackburn.
Looking at the fixtures its tight. A lot of them have to play each other. I reckon Blackpool could well be fooked and West Ham will have to win two of their last three IMO. (Home to Blackburn, Away to Wigan, Home to Sunderland) which is "doable" but would be better than they've managed most of the season. Wolves have winnable games but again I'm just not sure that without Doyle they've got enough. Wigan are too unpredictable so owt could happen with them and Blackburn well you just know they'll end their dismal run by beating us but will it be enough?

Those games against Blackburn and Wigan will decide it. A bit like for us in 2003.

Bit more complex now though as then it was "us or West Ham", harder to read this time, 5 teams in it, and they all have a chance of staying up.Lord Kangana wrote:Those games against Blackburn and Wigan will decide it. A bit like for us in 2003.

Wolves have been pretty poor since Doyle got injured. They still have a chance but they better find some solution to their striker problems very quick.

They were poor when he was playing.. He gets next to no goals... Yes he works hard. But he isn't a good footballerseanworth wrote:Wolves have been pretty poor since Doyle got injured. They still have a chance but they better find some solution to their striker problems very quick.

Re: Relegation Battle....
I don't think they were playing bad football at the time of his injury. They weren't getting that many results but were very competitive in some tough fixtures. Right now they are getting clobbered most games.

He'd be a much better one with decent players around him.boltonboris wrote:They were poor when he was playing.. He gets next to no goals... Yes he works hard. Folk said that about Davo when we were finishing top 8. I'd take someone who isn't a 'good footballer' if his work rate, channel running and hold up play mean the 'good footballers' can go about their goalscoring business.boltonboris wrote:They were poor when he was playing..
