His return can only coincide with a resounding 6-0 victory for the boys 8)

My first ever game on Saturday so either way it's going to be the start of a trend and I fully expect it to be a "we always win when I go to the game" trend!

Mind you...might not be the best news for the bank balance!

With Wheater being one yellow card away from missing the Semi do we risk Knight and save Wheater?

Same for Robinson do we continue with Alonso so Robo doesn't miss the semi?

and do we play Cohen so Mark Davies is 100% fit for the Semi. Cos if we lose him against spam then i really think we are screw!

Personally I'd play Knight, Alonso and Cohen.

Ok it means there is a strong chance West Ham will beat us.

But firstly we need to get Knight up to speed and get Cohen more match fit as he's one of only 3 Central Mids we've got. So he's probably going to have to play some part at Wembley and the rest of the season. Mark Davies could be used as a sub coming on for 20 minutes or so.

I think against Stoke its a bit of a toss up between Knight and Wheater. I generally think Wheater is considerably better than Knight, but Knight has the height advantage and that could swing it against a team like Stoke!

all this "saving folk for the next game" talk sounds like the kinda thing that people hated megson doing before the lisbon game.

I'm desperate for us to win this one and would love to see us condemn them to the bottom 3 and potential relegation.

I always had a soft spot for them until the final whistle of the 'Okocha' match, but watching Rufus Brevvet punch Nolan from behind then run off and the challenge from Pearce that got him a deserved red changed all that.

They're doomed (I hope)

I want to win this game. I love traditions and one of our traditions is beating West Ham, which riles them up no end.

I'm not really a fan of it either, but with Holden out we can't afford to risk losing Robbo and Knight should play so that if he comes through we have the choice of him or Wheater IMO.

Can't afford to risk M Davies and Cohen could do with more match sharpness ahead of the rest of the run in.

And for the record I think its always about priorities. Under Megson the priority was the league as we were in danger of going down. In the grand scheme of things the UEFA cup mattered very little.

Now we're pretty much safe in the league but with no real chance of qualifying for owt through it. So the FA Cup has become the natural priority!

What would people rather have?

Risk a lot against against West Ham (Players fitness and suspensions) and win and have less chance of winning the semi if things go wrong

or

Play with the likes of Alonso, Cohen and Knight and save our better players for the semi meaning having a better chance of getting to the Final (Europe guaranteed) meaning we can then throw everything at the league after the Semi!

We could still beat the Hammers with the likes of Knight etc but also gives us a better chance of getting to th final. Stoke are playing really well at the moment and have always caused us problems.

Before the end of the season I would like to see Knight and Wheater paired up just to see how they work together. Not sure about playing them together for this game though especially since we might be putting in Alonso in order to save Robinson for the FA Semi.

Yep just got mine. South Stand upper so I will be watching the little people play on Saturday.

Should be a near capacity crowd and hopefully a good atmosphere.

Fairly sure Gardner is back for this, think his loan ends today/yesterday. In at LB or centre mid?

Centre mid, for me.

I'd rather play with ten men than with Cohen.

According to today's Bolton News Ricky G is back today, and fit, so it does give us another option in midfield and at full back.

Alonso was pretty shit on Sat too though. And Ricky is miles better at LB than CM IMO. Then again he almost certainly won't be playing there in the semi, so maybe worth sticking him in CM to see if he is better than Cohen who was gash.
