BWFC Book of Hate (aka help a plastic understand)

Post by Horza » Sat Apr 09, 2011 7:54 am

No one likes the Rags and Wham are just too funny but what's the origin of the Wolves and Tranmere (and any other) feuds?

This could end up a long list. Everyone seems to have a hatred for some team with their own personal reasons.

Still have an irrational hatred of Tranmere that probably outweighs the others.

I despise 2 teams Liverpool and west ham

liverpool i hate because when i was younger they were allways the team to thump us by 5 or more and the cup final was hard to stomach not to mention the constant bragging and living in the past drives me mad,

west ham i hate because west ham won the world cup feck off dodgy london accents feck off,

And the main reason i hate west ham when i was a lad of about 12 my dad and all his mates and me and my big brother had headed off to churchills on manny road early before a bolton west ham match,
I was stood outside kicking a ball around alone and a group of westham fans came across the railway bridge dressed like tits one of them wearing (and i kid you not) red leather shorts and spiked bleach blonde hair !!
Being a proud bolton lad i proceeded to mock his fashion choices in a humorous manner :D which his freinds seemed to apreciate :o sadly the raging hammer didnt :( and gave me a good kicking and booted my ball down manny road :box: , Suffice to say i fecking hate west ham !!!

Tranmere can do one because of that twonk John Aldridge, and numerous defeats (and party spoiling draws) when I was just getting into football.

Wolves for the same reason, and for assaulting Lofty with pies

Everton can burn because of 1998, and take Gareth Farrelly with them.

The Wolves feud (as far as I'm aware) sprung up over them stealing our name. It was then exacerbated by John McGinlay lamping a Wolves player in a match right under the nose of the ref and somehow avoiding a red card ("it was just a wee push!") and then by Lofty dancing in front of their fans, which seemed to piss them off.

The origin of the Tranmere hatred, for me, is the Worthington cup semi's a few years back.

Late eighties, early nineties Tranmere always seemed to be competing with us for promotion or somesuch. They beat us in the play-off final in '91 to condemn us to yet more years in the lower divisions under Phil Neal.

And Granada (the local TV station) lionised them beyond belief. I still remember one of their number uttering the bizarre "If Alan Stubbs is worth £2m, what price John McGreal?".

John who? I hear you ask.

Egg-f*cking-zackly.

Nail on head. Granadas kow towing to them tosspots was really hard to stomach.

Good shout for Spurs as well. Another side idolised by the media with a profile far beyond their achievements. No better or bigger than City, Everton, Toon. Cant wait for Redknapp to make them his 3rd financially stricken victims

I hate, Man U, Tottenham (self righteous fans), Liverpool, Chelsea (money grubbers), Man City (previous thaksin affiliation), Arsenal (too much whining), West Ham (winning a world cup?), and Leeds (again because of their fans).

Just a little push to the face. Should be embarrassed going down like that. Don't how the commentators could call that a punch to the face.

On a brighter note, a potted history of why Bruce Rioch, Super John, Owen Coyle et al are so special to the club in recent times...

It's funny how so many people hate Everton supporters yet here in Bangkok I get a different impression. When an Everton supporter asks me which team I support, I have no need to rationalize my answer and more times than not they put out their hand and respond with something along the lines of I respect that decision.

You wouldn't do that on Gladys Street on match day/night.
