Bolton - Wet Spam

Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
Elmo did a lot of work, for parts of 2nd half he was playing just in front of Moo and the back four. Petrov has picked a very good time to hit form and nice to see Chungy starting.

Apparently Elmander covered 12km of ground - highest in all of yesterday's games. Could he grow into a CM role? (If he doesn't leave at the end of the season)

Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
He played it very well yesterday. It might be worth considering it in the context of the abject display offered by the oppo. But still, you can only play whats in front of you, and he looked good next to (a much improved) Moo. Its now an intersting conundrum for Coyle. Offer him what he wants, and clearly what the club don't really want to be offering, or see him leave and have to replace. Perhaps if he stayed and Sturridge gave us another season, then we might not need to look at signing a new central midfielder?

I dunno, I think we got away with him there because Wham were so shite. Against a real side I suspect he'd be shown up for what he is: a forward.

I missed my first home game for three seasons yesterday as work demanded my attention so its good to hear all this positivity in all the reports I read. The Observer even has Alonso in their Team of the Week, plus Sturridge, of course,
Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
So is it blasphemy to root for West Ham to stay up? I've only been a bolton supporter for about 6/7 years, so the two west ham games always seem to be a highlight of the premiership fixture list.

As much as I hate them and want them to go down they're a guaranteed 6 points a season.thevza wrote:So is it blasphemy to root for West Ham to stay up? I've only been a bolton supporter for about 6/7 years, so the two west ham games always seem to be a highlight of the premiership fixture list.

Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
To be honest I doubt many Bolton fans really care who stays up or goes down as long as we're here. Life wouldn't be quit the same without the joy of playing the West Hams', Wigans' Blackburns' and Wolves . I felt much the same when we were playing Barnsley, Port Vale, Tranmere and Crewe etc. Bring em on whoever they are.thevza wrote:So is it blasphemy to root for West Ham to stay up? Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
Wasn't West Ham one of the games that junior whites got free tickets to, or something?

Read a few of the media reports. Some bemoaning West Ham's lack of fight. I liked this one:

I was in the South Upper and paid for my ticket. I didn't see many groups of kids (Junior Whites) to be honest.hisroyalgingerness wrote:The top tier of South - was that home, away or the free tickets?
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
I was in the South Upper yesterday, as I managed to switch shifts at the last minutes to get to go! Definitely being sold to home fans, and fyi I think junior whites could sit anywhere but went free to this one. Anyway, great crowd and arsenal seems to be selling fast too...best result to send us off to wembley in style.

Re: Bolton - Wet Spam
The excellent win yesterday has opened up a 4 point gap between the 9th placed team (depending on the Villa-Newcastle result). 8th would be a fantastic finish this season!
