If Ricketts is in the team, Steinsson is better.

If Steinsson is in the team, Ricketts is better.

You can replace them with Wheater/Knight as well.

FWIW, if we're doing 'things you'll remember about this season', then I would guess it will be Birmingham and Stoke in the Cup. We've been through this before, but mid-table is mid-table to me. If it's five top-8 finishes in 8 years, five top-10 finishes in 8 years or seven top-14 finishes in 8 years, it doesn't make a massive difference IMHO.

Wouldn't cost anything to put a few players in the club shop signing stuff on Saturday. Or even a free pie or pint voucher or sommat.

Can understand it won't happen and the reasons why but a bit of positive PR could do wonders right now!
Putting players in the line of fire wouldn't work, nor would the logistics of handing out vouchers ("A pint? You think that makes up for it?"). But you're right that there should be a gesture. One thing would be an open letter in the local paper, apologising, expressing bemusement, offering to do their damnedest for the rest of the season – and drawing a line under it, as much as can be done.

I want a fecking refund not from the club but from some of the bloody useless disinterest lazy cnuts who played and were a complete embarrassment

I'm still so pissed off about what I saw and the money I wasted I am not interested in what happens for the rest of this season until those useless tossers clear off.

As an aside, does anybody know how the lad is who took a fall outside the Greyhound, when he tried to retrieve that scarf? When I saw him being helped up, his arm was practically hanging off!

I missed the fall, I just heard the thud and the cries of "Oooooooohh" in the crowd
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"

At right-back?

Seriously, of course you're right - and it can be seen as a healthy sign of competition rather than a dearth of completely brilliant options. Although loyal to his players, Coyle has already shown he'll switch people out if he believes they're underperforming - or in if they can offer something different. Quite right, too: the next development would be a stronger squad with more horses-for-courses selections. (I think this might partly explain Knight keeping his place over Wheater against Stoke's two-wingers-and-nine-oxen formation.) Broadly speaking Ricketts is more solid defensively, Steinsson carries more threat going forward - so the team we put out at home to West Ham might not necessarily match the one we send out at the Emirates.

You don't buy tickets on some kind of performance related basis though. Stoke fans shouldn't have to pay their team bonuses, for example.

They were an embarrasment, but shit happens. There's nothing they can do now other than perform in the league.

And that won't be any kind of consolation. I like DSB's idea of an open letter. Get all the management and players to sign it.

Good gesture, good PR would show that everyone cares and also would as DSB says put a line underneath it all.

I know, chum. Was talking hypotheticals - sh*t team at home, pitch-stretchingly good team away. Pure coinkydink that they're our last and next league oppoes.

Thanks for warning me not to schlepp across London on a second successive Sunday though

I think we should draw a line under it now, to ask for a refund is ridiculous. BWFC as a team have lost in the past and will lose in the future but we'll also win games too. To not support the team against Arsenal just because they disappointed is stupid, I'll be there and I would hope that some of the moaning minnies on here who can be at the game will get behind the team. Trouble in we've been spoilt and I blame Murdoch more than anything

I'm sorry BWFCi, I did. Because regardless of us having that Ginger nut in charge I still went and supported the team, because that's me. I support BWFC through thick and thin, I did it whilst we had to play in the old 4th Div and I do it in a heartbeat if it happened again. It's in my blood

We wouldn't have been in a semi-final 18 months ago.

We'd have been setting out to draw at home.

Context is everything.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

I have. About 30 times a season.

It may not be to some, but it's about all they can do. Even an open letter written by some PR person at the club would be disregarded in some quarters. We've already had the captain pouring his heart out on Twitter, did that make anyone feel better?

They're a football team, win matches and people will move on from this. Obviously, nothing short of us rampaging back to Wembley and winning before we all die will make people forgive, but with 6 games to go in a season all we can realistically hope for now is to win some games.
