List of possible left-back signings.

Yeah - let's sign Leighton Baines instead, or maybe Ashley Cole.

Good plan though I was thinking more of Marcelo from Madrid. Looks pretty exciting.

On Warnock though, the Blackburn fan at work has never rated him, says he's a "highlights player" who was never in the right position, gave the ball away lots, didn't concentrate enough and just wasn't very good. He's put me off, and I'm surprised because I thought he was liked at Blackburn. Perhaps he's wrong, but bits I've seen of him that description hasn't been far off!

I just can't stop re-running the image of Robinson playing that ball in for their first on Sunday.

Steinsson's token tracking of Kenwynne Jones for their third then stopping and admiring the imminent through-ball keeps waking me up in cold sweats...

Regardless of Warnock's ability (and I'm ambivalent, even if he nearly went to the World Cup), I'm of the opinion that we shouldn't be spending on left-backs unless we've got lots of money.

McFadden is far from a daft idea. He would offer options on the left and up front, and of course is Scottish, therefore must be best mates with Coyle. Or the other half-dozen Scottish managers in the top flight, one of whom currently employs him...

I take it yer man at Forest, Ay Ay Ay Ay Moussi, is a hard-running tackling midfielder. He does, after all, play for Billy Davies.

He has been doing that ever since he arrived. He's the worst right-back that we've had in years.

In my lifetime watching BWFC, we have only ever had one 'good' RB (Neil Cox) and I go back as far as Peter Nicholson.

I wouldnt mind if it was a complicated concept, that of actually defending and tracking your man. It's not like he was trying step up and catch Jones offside, he just fookin left him !
(im counting to ten...)

Yeah, I can't think of anybody who was better than Cox.

It's about time we had somebody decent in that position, especially with the increase of lightening fast wingers!

Aye commanding midfield player. Whenever I've seen him I've always thought "if only we had him instead of Muamba".

But then that is at championship level!

If the only 'good' RB we've had in a footballing generation was Neil Cox 12 years ago (only 'good' LB - Candela for six months?), then I'm happy with making do with average-to-shit ones and spending money elsewhere.

Always liked Simon Charlton myself. ( Edit, left back due to LL's possible left backs being the original question)

Bruno and Bergsson were fairly handy at right back for the periods they played there. But yes, Cox is the best proper RB we've had that I can recall...
