Expensive wages though but definitely would be a great 'stop gap' player

If we can get rid of Petrov then yes please. Another low fee big wages could be excellent could be terrible signing.

10 mil mentioned for Cole plus his wages. Have to offload decently to make it a good buy.

Indeed.

Also, where does Cole play? I mean, he played left wing for ages, but has played as a supporting striker, up front...everywhere inbetween.

I wouldn't know where he'd slot into our first eleven, and if he can't slot in there, we can't afford him as a super-sub.

They "bought" him on a Bosman ... but I can only imagine his salary.

But yes, I would if he was available.

Joe Cole couldn't play in our centre. I doubt he'll want to play on our wing.

I'd put my money on Newcastle, Vllla or West Aaaaam if they don't go down. Could be a decent signing if he wanted to come though, as I seem to recall Taylor is out of contract this summer, isn't he? We'd have to get Petrov's wages to someone like QPR...and..and..

His salary was the reason he ended up at Liverpool. Chelsea refused his £100kpw+ demands, so they announced they'd release him. He thought he was quids in considering Ferguson and Redknapp have long been admirers and Wenger was strongly rumoured to be interested. However, nobody would pay the asking wage or indeed anything like it; the closest were Liverpool (£85kpw IIRC), and whether by coincidence or the Champions League clubs looking elsewhere, that's where he went.

Lord knows what he thinks now of that spectacularly inept display of brinksmanship.

Yep - better than Taylor or Petrov over a season.

Ten mill sounds a little high for a player getting on and with a career in persistent decline. But a little less and I'd say yes please - and hope for inspiration from Coyle.

He may have too many memories of crying at the reebok, though...

I'm of a mind to not necessarily dismiss 4 and a half million pounds a year as spectacularly inept. Maybe not what he was hoping for....

Not going to happen though, N'Zogbia wants a premium and wants a bigger club and is way to inconsistent

Are we not "bigger" than Wigan?
