I like him. He's pretty much a gastronomic genious. Everything he does you'd think "that shouldn't work" but then it does. Very clever bloke, and I like that he just "does what he wants" and will suffer the consequences either way!Lofthouse Lower wrote:I watched last weeks, and that American is an annoying twunt

I respect his skill, I just wouldn't eat any of that mad stuff he serves up
Although now I only watch it to see the sort of portions that the fat bald bloke gives himself when testing their grub

I picked up on hold a DVD of Season 3 Degrassi Jnr High!!!!!!! :idiot:
I'll probably now watch a few episodes of a DVD: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia Season 1 + 2
I'm going away and I'm packing three bags of dvds, three of those dvds are my partners.

Just watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo: great film. Can't understand Cap's comments that he'd have found it hard to follow had he not read the book - the plot/story was all plain sailing really. A couple of grim scenes in it but all-in-all four out of five from me.

Watched Stray Dogs last night. (Farsi, subtitles). Set in Afghanistan it tells the story of two kids - both under ten - in modern day Afghanistan, whose father is in prison as a Taliban fanatic, and mother in prison because she remarried after five years of his absence, thinking he was dead, and now he has returned and had her arrested as an adulterer (poss sentnce, death). If they can persuade him to 'forgive' her she will be released. If not, stoned. In the meantime they are allowed into her prison each night to sleep in her cell.
And then the prison governor forbids their admittance. It's winter. It's cold. bitterly so.
What do the kids do?
This is, frankly, a mess of a film, edited without skill, and with a story that is hampered by the presence of an actual stray dog the kids have adopted, and really doesn't quite stack up.
But partner and i were gripped from beginning to end. And moved.
No laughter.
No triviality.
No bangs.
No naked boobies.

Watched it the other day. Was a bit...meh. Not quite the witty hard hitting exchange I'd been hoping for. Felt more like an episode of Dead Ringers.

So what? That story sounds absolutely gripping and I'll watch it for that reason.William the White wrote:Watched Stray Dogs last night. (Farsi, subtitles). Re: What are you watching tonight?
I watched Spice World yesterday, and it had all the hallmarks of a classic, but by jove I couldn't stand it - the art direction was all wrong and the key grip was obviously underqualified.
Re: What are you watching tonight?
Still the Sopranos. Now up to Series three, and the finale. Who should appear but.....OMAAAAAAAR!
