I was honestly surprised we didn't go for him when we bought Blake.HMX wrote:Chris Eagles?

Some people on this thread need to take a long, hard look at themselves

There's a very odd sound in my ears. I've never heard a barrel being scraped, but I reckon it sounds a lot like this.

Steven Fletcher from Wolves as well would be good
Re: Who would u like to see at the reebok next season ?
Seems to have changed from a who would we like to see at the Reebok next season to who can we afford and thus more likely to see.
Assuming we can sell Cahill then N'zogbia and Bellamy. Of course it will never happen.

Some very short memories...lots of strikers and 'flair' types
A good solid central midfielder would be nice
One who can run 10 miles a game, can tackle with the best in the league, can pass like the best in the league, is happy to be back up and is happy to be one of a 2 v 3 on many occasions
I'm sure theres loads

Could you be more specific about key attributes such as pace, heading ability, direct free kick taking talent and stuff? There's too many to pick from otherwise.CAPSLOCK wrote:Some very short memories...lots of strikers and 'flair' types

Must have at least 15 for passing, tackling and work rate. Ideally not African or Asian either or January means promoting one of the 28 16 year old Brazilian wonderkids we'll also be buying.

A Striker! Elmander can't be relied on and Sturridge won't stay for a longer period. I don't know who though. Always wondered what Rodallega would be like with a better team around him.

Still wank. I'd assume.

Starting with my strapline.
We can't afford anyone we would actually want.
So we need the talented but unproven or the talented but not getting on with their manager.
Coyle was very lucky in finding at least a dozen of them when he arrived here.
He seems to be good at bringing out the best in ordinary players - and spotting things that others don't.
So I would expect some obscure foreign names - I doubt that we will get many from the relegated - the decent players will be just too dear.
For example Fletcher from Burnley to Wolves was about £6m - and is only bench fodder.

O'Hara is happy to play for Wolves. I reckon we could get players from the majority of teams in this country. Theres probably about ten that we can't get them from. Thats a hell of a lot of players to choose from. Before we even start looking abroad. There's plenty out there, it just takes the right coaching and management to bring it out of many.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Ding! Finishing in the top eight with a universally lauded manager would make us surely one of the most attractive destinations outwith the big six - notwithstanding that some would rather play further down the league for more money. But we don't want those, do we?Lord Kangana wrote:O'Hara is happy to play for Wolves. I reckon we could get players from the majority of teams in this country. Re: Who would u like to see at the reebok next season ?
Are newly promoted clubs (even if they are relatively "moneybagish") going to be able to match our wage structure for the first couple of season? I'm just thinking, outsde the current top four, Spurs and Liverpool, who is the team that would always beat us to a signing? Villa, maybe, Newcastle? Not sure, they're far more parsimonious these days... Everton aren't exactly loaded.
Just thinking if, for example, Cardiff, QPR and Leeds (hypothetically) got promoted, I still don't see how we won't be able to match them. Its not about size of club etc, its more financial structure.
I s'pose it really means we need Daddy Davies to keep the overdraft open. If he does, we can compete.

I dunno, I'd be happy putting cones out and washing jerseys, and it'd be for a lot less than you'd pay that fellamartin1877coywm wrote:Steven Fletcher from Wolves as well would be good

It's about attractiveness of proposition. We're an established Premier club and on the evidence of this season a good team with a popular manager. Surely players fancy that more than the relegation risk all three teams named above pose. Of course we're not immune to that risk ourselves but we won't be constantly named as candidates in the predictions next summer.Lord Kangana wrote:Just thinking if, for example, Cardiff, QPR and Leeds (hypothetically) got promoted, I still don't see how we won't be able to match them.
