Re: BWFC Podcast
We're only doing this for a laugh you know! The chance to tell some BWFC jokes and sing some songs with SKD and Owen Coyle, then we're hardly going to turn it down for issues of 'credibility' (we're a comedy Folk-base Bolton podcast for crying out loud!) or to try and not be cringe-worthy.
Sometimes you have to go with a ride and see where it takes you. It's all for fun. Never thought we'd get this off the ground at all, never mind have it do so well and give us the chance to do it live!

Aye. It's a laugh. If you're having a laugh and folk aren't throwing stuff at you go for it. I had a listen to one of them. Not really my thing, but it was hardly 'cringeworthy'. Keep going.

Well I'm refusing to listen to any more of them until you mention my name in one. It's not fair that Hobo gets a shout out and I don't.

Re: BWFC Podcast
The numbers would be much bigger if it wasn't for the two Big City teams down the road stealing all the podcast glory seekers!
Anyway, numbers are much higher than we thought, and thanks to google analytics, shorterned URLs that monitor click throughs, twitter responses, RSS subscriptions and the data from iTunes, it is very easy for us to keep tabs.
We aren't funded by anyone, it's all done and recorded by me and Dartisan. So rest assured, if and when people stop listening or it ceases to be enjoyable, we'll call it a day. At the moment though it is really enjoyable and gettin more listens than we could have hoped for.

I listened because I don't like giving out uninformed opinions.keveh wrote:Why are you bothered if you don't like it and aren't going to listen?
Still no figures, btw?
Re: BWFC Podcast
as long as you enjoy it - do it - simple.
how many are listening is irrelevant. Some people post on here dozens of times a day with hardly anything funny or interesting to say - and with no measurable approval stats - presumably simply because they enjoy posting.
you don't need to justify yourselves to anyone on here.

Cheers Bish - we shall soldier on.
Lofthouse Lower - I can only imagine you want specific figures because you are thinking of placing an advert... what exactly is it that you deal in?

I'm just wondering what your listenership numbers are, it's only a friendly question - if you don't want to say, then just say

Not really as it doesn't matter.
Plenty of people enjoy it and you two are just being your awkward selves as always.

Re: BWFC Podcast
Thanks Keveh - you obviously have a slight insight as you hosted our first podcast on this very site. Glad you see it as plenty!CAPSLOCK wrote:Lofthouse Lower wrote:I'm just wondering what your listenership numbers are, it's only a friendly question - if you don't want to say, then just say

Anyway, I think I'm going to have my last say on this issue now because you're both right - it is a fair enough question. However, almost out of stubbornness, I'm not going to go into figures.
No hard feelings I hope - it seems to be something you'd like to know, but as a bit of a laugh that we are having a play around with, it is irrelevant. It would only lead to more discussion about things that are subjective, and I guess I was foolish to say 'doing well' when what I probably meant was 'we're delighted that people are listening and showing an interest'.
It's enough for us to want to keep going, and consider it to be doing well. But if it were a thousand listeners per episode or 10,000, it would still be entirely subjective success wise so I take your point - it's only 'doing well' as far as we're concerned.
Got to say; I'm just really chuffed that people want to know so much about it- even those that dislike it!
I hope in a year's time it will be the Reebok/188 Bet Men in White Podcast, bringing in a million listeners a day, and I'll be a able to retire of this thing (my hopes are not high on his front, I should point out)... but for the time being, thanks for your interest.

Cheers LL. We are looking into it I promise. Perhaps making it a bit less frequent, giving us time to do more in depth stuff, and bring in more informal chats.Lofthouse Lower wrote:I wish you well

I wish we didn't have to do day jobs too, I really do.
