If its £15m + SWP, then they are starting the bidding in the right area.
But considering we have CYL on the right, I'm not sure we even need SWP.

Sorry meant to drop SWP. Unless CYL is sold this summer, which I doubt, I think we are fine in that position. Still I know the wages will be quite high.CAPSLOCK wrote:That'd be pushing 12 million a year in wages for them three, so maybe we won'tseanworth wrote:Yeah right. Still think his best position is playing off the front one/two. Not quite a triquerista (or something) but more of a free role.

I agree. Can imagine he'll be injured again before a months past of the new season. No doubt he could have been great for us but not now.plymouth wanderer wrote:think he would of been brilliant for us especially him and holden in the centre if it was't for his injurys but i think we should try and get rid

Yeah, let's spend two years getting the guy fit again and then fire him off without even giving him a crack of the whip. Genius.

I doubt our plan when he arrived was to spend TWO years getting him fit. And spending more wages on somebody likely to be out again could be seen as foolishBruce Rioja wrote:Yeah, let's spend two years getting the guy fit again and then fire him off without even giving him a crack of the whip. Whats his contract situation? Another year left I presume...we are littered with injury prone centre mids!

yeah let's keep him and more than likely he will get injured again as history would suggest and we will end up carrying him and his wages till the end of next season fvcking genius
i rated him but let's get rid now pay him off

Another ITK medical man, I see. How many times have we had Gardner's knees repaired? I don't see a clamour to get rid of him!plymouth wanderer wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Yeah, let's spend two years getting the guy fit again and then fire him off without even giving him a crack of the whip. Genius.

At the end of the day I trust the club to make a decision based on the facts as they are presented to them by medical experts, unless, of course, you happen to know better.

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
The deal for Cahill to go to Citeh looks more likely, Phillippe Mexes has become available on a free so I expect Arsene to go for him. I still don't want SWP as part of the deal, would rather they pay full price and we try and get some younger players first
Pfffft.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
So instead of paying his wages like we do now, we just pay up his contract? How much money do you think that would save?plymouth wanderer wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Yeah, let's spend two years getting the guy fit again and then fire him off without even giving him a crack of the whip. Genius.

We've come this far with him, he deserves his chance. If he comes back at the level he was previously, it's one problem solved.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
If we sell Cahill for less than 15 million, I'll be gutted.
SWP would do well for us, but he's not a central defender, and if Cahill goes, we are back to having 2 first team centre backs.

No but we see that these sort of injuries crop up again and again, how many people out for two years with 2 major operations do you actually see come back fit? If it was risk free, all for it.Bruce Rioja wrote:You're one of our medical team, I see. Sorry - I'd no idea.LiOC wrote:I doubt our plan when he arrived was to spend TWO years getting him fit. I was under the impression his contract was up anyway and the idea was to extend it. But if I'm wrong, I don't think we should pay him off, no. If the right offer came in, which it probably won't, selling him wouldn't outrage me.
And I think the gardner thing is more out of loyalty to a guy who's given alot to the club.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
I'd thought we'd signed him for 4 years.
Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
My bad, according to wikipedia we signed him for 3 years in 2009, which would give him one more year. If so, i wouldn't pay him off, but i wouldn't reject an offer for him. If we can get him to stay fit, great, if we can't then he'll be here one more year, and then leave.seanworth wrote:I'd thought we'd signed him for 4 years.

like i said i rated him but if someone wanted him in the nxt transfer window for free i would't lose sleep over it getting rid i was thinking a mutual contract termination usally it's a fraction of there wages that they are owed obviously he would have to accept it and if he did't that's not the sort of player we want anyway considering the club stood by him all this time also he is supposed to be one of the highest paid players in the squad
if he gets injured again no fvcker gonna's want him we ain't a fvcking charity
